This experience provides a baseline of knowledge for anyone interested in martial arts, while at the same time giving the opportunity to soak up some rays and experience a popular historical landmark of Santa Monica.

Muay Thai, otherwise known as Thai Boxing, is an ancient Thai martial art famous for its rigorous conditioning and no-nonsense self-defense techniques. In this class, you will get a fair share of both.

First, we'll enjoy a peaceful warm-up jog down the beach, followed by a series of dynamic body-weight conditioning drills. I'll teach you how to properly wrap your hands and then we'll glove up. We'll then delve into all of the "8 limbs of Muay Thai" step by step. This will include basic foot work, hand tools, elbow and knee strikes, as well as kicking. From there we will begin forming basic movement combinations to string together everything we have learned.

After that, we'll slow things down for some fun photo/video ops around muscle beach. If you're feeling brave enough, I can show you proper climbing technique to give you the perfect shot from the top of the high rope.

When we're all done. Feel free to wander around the beautiful Santa Monica Pier!
