Delightful and friendly Ibi was waiting to welcome us at the house - she showed us round, explained everything and gave us helpful hints as to where to go and places to see...there was a full welcome pack(water, milk, bottle of cava, nibbles, olives etc) + plus full store cupboard with everything you need (including spices, basic foodstuffs) cleaning things. Beds with fresh and good smelling sheets + 2 towels per person. All sparkling clean. Nice touch that you could use the phone for local calls, and printer. Wi fi great, TV with English programmes.
But most of all....such beauty! The house and garden are wonderfully designed with artistic touches everywhere. It has a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere created by the owners in a lovely setting overlooking the vine covered hills and valley. Everywhere you look there is a treasure to be (URL HIDDEN) interesting painting or sculpture, little unexpected corners in the garden where you come across an ancient door among aromatic plants and trees. All so carefully thought out - a feast for the eyes. I found it quite hard to leave the house as felt very happy there and enjoyed every (URL HIDDEN) is enchanting! The outside area has plenty of variety of sitting places for outdoor eating and relaxing - including a hammock! And the pool is heaven too - you can float around looking out over the view to the distant hills..
Sant Pere itself has some old and attractive streets- especially the Indianos ones, and the more modern part, though small and quiet, has everything you need eg supermarkets, bakers, fruit and veg shops etc. Worth a visit to the Tourist Information to find out more about the area. Take a bus to Sitges for a more lively time.
We could not find anything to fault with Can Guru (except the biting mosquitoes - but that's not your fault! Also the ceiling fans kept them away at night inside - and kept the bedrooms beautifully cool - we only got bitten outside) - it is my dream house! Thank you,Katy, for sharing it!
