This spacious ground level apartment, situated in a woodsy and peaceful neighborhood, has a master bedroom with queen bed and a smaller bedroom with twin bed. (Note: the bathroom is accessible only by going through the master bedroom.) The suite also has a living room and dining room, and kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker. Every room offers a view westward to Mount Monadnock, a compelling sight any time of day, any time of year. There is garage parking for one car.
Ladder Rock welcomes quiet children and dogs.
Breakfast is self-catered. A variety of breakfast food is supplied in the apartment, including breakfast dishes that can be heated by microwave or toaster oven. Guests may eat whenever they wish.
While the town of Sharon is rural, you’ll find restaurants, shops, and galleries in the adjacent towns of Peterborough and Jaffrey.
In every season, there is plenty to enjoy in the Monadnock region. In winter, downhill and cross country skiing are a short drive away, or you can strap on your snowshoes and head down the back hill to connect with trails in the Sharon Town Forest. Spring, summer, and fall are excellent times for hiking the Wapack and other local trails.
This area is rich in arts and culture. Changing foliage and art tours color the autumn. Peterborough Players, the Monadnock Music Festival, Monadnock Summer Lyceum, and Amos Fortune lectures are summertime favorites. Electric Earth concerts are scheduled throughout the year.
I am usually on site to greet guests. If I am not going to be home, there will be a ball of yarn in a flower pot at the edge of the open garage door. Guests follow the yarn (winding up the ball as they go) until reaching the door to the suite.
After meeting, reviewing a few house guidelines, and answering questions, I leave guests to move in and relax.
Quiet is the watchword in this neighborhood. Recycling is encouraged; composting available.
