Cosy private room in a family house, where two generations of "minhotas" well travelled like to welcome other cultures and share their own. Your full time host will be Celeste, someone that cooks portuguese cuisine so well as brazilian. Taking care of the garden and Thomas the cat, are some of the daily affairs. Enjoying a good meal and touring, that's totally Daniella's thing, the second in line, who is also passionate about folk.

->>Celeste, Daniella's mum, is the full time host, because this is her home. She only speaks portuguese, and since she will be the person that you will see the most, please take that into consideration before booking. Daniella is only co-hosting when she is free from her work as private tour guide. In fact, if she could she would gladly stay there all day just to meet every interesting guest that is arriving!

We love our cat and he is really well behaved, but for hygiene reasons, he was only granted access to the kitchen and garden.

This house saw its fair share of international friends ( Hi everyone!), and we thought it was unfair to keep it only in this circle. Besides we like to meet new people and, who knows, new friendships might come along, no harm no foul, right?

On the other hand, if actually you need to work or have your own agenda, that's fine. You will love our super fast Wifi or fiber Internet, and in case you need a printer, just let us know.

Viana do Castelo has a rich heritage that is just waiting to be discovered, like Santa Luzia Temple, Praça da República, the Hospital-Ship Gil Eanes. Learn about the portuguese gold filigree, the hand painted pottery, and learn how to cook codfish like a local.

Like Viana, Ponte de Lima has a route to Santiago de Compostela, and both very interesting to let yourself lost. Cross the Roman bridge and if you are a Nature lover like me, don't miss the wetlands.

Only 1h away there's much more to be amazed with, go ahead to Soajo and let Rosa prepare "carne da cachena", tell her we sent you. Check out the community corn barns and enjoy the landscape. Don't forget to stop at Ponte da Barca and Ponte de Lima, oh wait, let me write that on a piece of paper for you...

Let's not forget Vila Nova de Cerveira, and the amazing views to the "lovers island" and the river Minho mouth, specially at sunset. Valença the fortress town, where you can still see the cannons that protected Portuguese against Spanish kingdom troops. Melgaço the "Alvarinho" hometown, you really wanna try this wine, after all it's the king of Vinho Verde. We need to chat...

I started traveling before I was even born, like so many in the Minho region, my parents were immigrants in Brazil. It wasn't enough being born on the other side of the Atlantic, in such a lively place like Rio de Janeiro, I was then brought up in Viana do Castelo, where culture can get very deep into our skin...and heart. All of this wasn't enough and I had to try Erasmus in Poland, work in the UK, and travel all over the world, counting over 25 countries.

Iam a bubbly person and was fortunate enough to make friends in several places where I've been, and even luckier that they choose to visited me afterwards.

Iam so in love with my country's culture and I take such pleasure in sharing it with others, that I quitted my Economist career to become a private tour guide. That's how passionate Iam about it!

You might be wondering so let me quiet your curiosity already. In my profile picture I am wearing a folk wedding dress. I would be happy to share my knowledge on traditional customs. We can do this over a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, you choose!
