Camp out in YOUR tents or hammocks on our designated camping spots 3 min. from the entrance to Table Rock State Park! Safer than deep wilderness camping and conveniences nearby you can't get out there!! You provide all your own gear & we'll greet you & show you to your spot on a woody section of our property, close enuf to the house to reduce animal activity, but tucked back enough to feel like real woods camping. Come get wild on The Ridge! *ABSOLUTELY NO ONE-NITE PARK & SLEEP IN CAR ALLOWED!*
This campground is tucked away in a section of the woods, down the hill and about 100 yards from the house, which keeps bear and wildlife pass throughs to a minimum. Please note that pets must be included in your reservation... so two people and a dog equal 3 guests!!!
Also only tents, hammocks & the new small, lightweight pop-ups can be accommodated... no full sized pop-ups, trailers or RV's. This is our largest campsite and includes a picnic table & tree swing!
This is basically camping like at a state park, except you aren't stacked in with other campers.
We may allow experienced backpackers that arrive early for hike and set-up time and with proper gear and wildlife experience in the deeper woods, once we've met you and you let us know what you're looking for, and we're confident you have the right gear and will be safe and prepared out there.
We have 14 acres of unspoiled and some virgin woods, 2 creeks, a pond and a pure wilderness feel, with the Milky Way visible overhead in the fall. We have designated park and camp spots, pre-prepped for you with parking close by, access to the well up the hill, fire pit, and a porta loo nearby and picnic table... foraged fallen wood is free, but you can purchase additional logs, as well as coffee, and/or breakfast in the morning, once you're here... just let us know what you'll think you'll want or need!
Our front yard view of the sunrise kissing the face of Table Rock in the morning is amazing! Check us out on Fbk for area events and updates @TheRidgebnb
You must have all your own necessary gear and warm clothes, a Bear proof container or a way to store all food and trash in your car... absolutely no food or trash can remain outside or in your tents!!! We have bears, they do not typically frequent this part of the woods and we want to keep it that way for everyone's safety! You must count your pets as a guest when making your reservation as they can cause more noise disturbance, messes and get loose and cause damage as much as any human! We love them but they must be paid for as a member of the family/group/pack and leashed when near the house and gardens or by the pond where our ducks are especially!*
You'll have access to designated land and fire pit, parking, access to the well to fill containers, a porta-loo located in our camping area and access to our trails in the deeper woods and fishing at the pond - no guarantees on what you might catch, or what's in there, but our ducks are our pets, so treat them kindly! Again, pets are guests too... please count them in your reservation!
please check the rules for foul weather options.
Bring some cash if you don't have all the gear & want to get in on on these: per cup morning coffee/tea for $3, seasoned log bundles if needed/wanted for $10 per load to our campers with advanced notice.
We just added a grill & party patio to the barn! Reserve the space & use of the grill for $20! Dinnerware is $5 per person or bring your own throwaways! Limit 1.5 hours, patio includes large grill with side burner, tools, gas, a large picnic table my grandfather built and extra wicker seating. Throw away your trash & we'll clean up the rest!
We also offer full use of our Archery Range and Equipment including throwing knives or recurve for $5 per person... lost arrows or damaged equipment are extra ;)
Trailhead and River services include drop off and pick up and we'll even meet you on the trail with provisions. Fees apply. Discounts for guests staying on The Ridge before and after extended hikes. We may also trail buddy with solo guests in exchange for dinner or a six pack, or just because we like you! ;)
We're open to help plan and make suggestions, to discussing ideas if you wish to have guests join you for some visiting time out here on the property and generally enjoy interacting with our guests, sometimes we've joined in or facilitated hikes, kayaking or other activities.

We live in foothills of the Smoky Mountains on 14 acres, there are deer, rabbits and all manner of birds on our property, as well as our own ducks and chickens. There are also black bears. There are snakes... some poisonous. There are packs of wild turkeys living in the woods that might surprise you if you hike our trails... all these beautiful creatures are in the state parks as well. We have learned to live cohesively and to be wise, alert and respectful. The main thing is not to panic if you see them, we can advise you what to do and where activity is diminished or increased. Sightings are rare, but they do happen, so it's important to follow the rules about not leaving food or trash outside and any other guidelines we offer during your stay depending on the movements in the area, which change throughout the seasons.
All major cellular providers connect strongly here, we've never had poor phone or data service, even deep in the woods.
- Guests must provide their own gear (tents and hammocks only - no full size pop up campers or RVs please) & appropriate weather bags and clothing
- Pets must be counted in the number of guests, as a part of the family/pack, when making the reservation. So two people and one dog= 3 guests!
- Campers will need to sign a waiver and read and agree to our full list of site rules which align with South Carolina State Park regulations for nature sustainability and safety
- Camping fires must be contained in designated spots
- Events or parties must be pre-arranged and additional fees may apply
- We have black bears, snakes & skunks (as do all the local trails), though sightings are rare. No trash or food can be left out or in your tent at any time when you are sleeping or away. Your safety is our concern and YOUR responsibility
- If the weather turns or your gear goes wrong, you can book a room in the main house, if available, otherwise no refunds if you leave early!
- Leave no trace behind strictly enforced, especially with pet waste!
Once a busy mom, wife and serial entrepreneur in Ohio... after barely surviving sudden widowhood and finding myself tapped out from maintaining three businesses, a farm & two rental properties on my own for two years... I got my kids off to adulthood and finally took the leap, sold it all and relocated to the mountains in South Carolina! At any time you might see friends, family or neighbors onsite helping me with various projects or assisting with the day to day... it's turning into a full and beautiful life!
The goal is to have a B&B and wedding venue here in the future, and to live and work everyday in the moment, surrounded by good things and good people.
Waking up to the sun rising on the face of Table Rock, living on 14 acres of woods and enjoying the pond and nature up close has been a grand start, now we just need you!
While we transition the house and property, we're opening it up to Airbnb folks and would love your feedback and ideas. We ala cart many of our services and amenities so we can afford to keep our room rates lower for you... so please read our full descriptions, so you know what to expect!
