Treat yourself to the perfect romantic escape. Breathe in breathtaking views, swim in a fresh water pond then soak away the worries of the world in a gorgeous hot bath. Either cuddle up in front of the fire with a glass of something relaxing or pop those steaks on your BBQ! This enchanting cosy cottage sits within a 75 acre estate, 20 mins from the coast of Aldeburgh and Shingle St. Utterly dog-friendly - a fairytale fantasy for you, your lover and your furry friend!
It's fairytale because everywhere you look is beautiful and all yours to explore, set up picnics, light a BBQ or just lay down and look at the sky!
You overlook this picturesque moated medieval hunting lodge called Letheringham Lodge but are secluded and private in your own enchanting little cottage with electric gate access and parking in front.
The kitchen has everything you could need for an escape from the crazy world: induction hob and oven; fridge; cafetière, coffee, tea, milk, biscuits and a wee bottle of bubbly prosecco in the fridge! There is a microwave but no dishwasher.
The bath in the upstairs bedroom is a complete luxury to soak away all your worries but if you are a shower person, there is a modern but intimate wet room with shower and toilet on the ground floor.
Worried about the swans? Don't be. They are very friendly pets and will feed from your hand; they would never hurt you! If they come too close and you feel uncomfortable you simply raise your arms like pretending to be an aeroplane and they walk off. I assure you, you will fall in love with them like we are! They are called Henry and Ann because it is believed Henry Tudor and Anne Boleyn courted here (we have historians trying to prove it as I type this!).
We provide infinite firewood for your woodburner so you may not want to ever leave your cosy little hideaway.
We are so dog friendly, we don't want you to collect his/her art installations unless they are on the paths - they feed the badgers and the deer!
When you book, you will be given a passcode to the electric gates and your front door. Come and go whenever you please (24 hours a day) and you are welcome to go everywhere around the estate. We can provide you with a portable BBQ so you can set up camp where you fancy! Please take your chairs and tables and set up camp where you like.
There are two other cottages on Airbnb but they have different entrances and different parking areas. One is back to back with yours but only one room has a shared wall so unlikely to be a problem.
There is easy parking for as many cars as you need next to your cottage.
We won't disturb you unless you text us or ring us for help. You need never even meet us if that is your preference.
However, we would love to show you around the medieval hunting lodge free of charge at a time to suit you.

Because the stairs are steep and the toilet is on the ground floor we do not recommend this for infirm individuals who need to use the bathroom at night.
Do search for Letheringham Lodge in the search engines to find out more about the history of the setting you will be staying in!
We are very close to the long distance cycle path number 1 - Dover to Shetland. This links in to the most amazing selection of cycling opportunities around us in Suffolk.

Hi, I'm Pauline. I am married to Matthew and have a sprocker puppy called Dotty.
We have only just started doing Airbnb and we really love it. We get to share a mad spontaneous purchase of a medieval hunting lodge with warm magic people.
I'm a practising sculptor and collaborative installation artist so you might see some pieces in the grounds.
Matthew is a sound artist with a studio in one of the barns.
We are just getting our on-site pub going called the Sprocker's Arms so maybe you could pop in and join us for a pint?
We look forward to meeting you :-))
