Our home is a comfy, cosy, heritage-listed cottage on a quiet street in a fantastic central location. We have a lovely sunny, east-facing queen bedroom available for guests.
You'll be sharing the cottage with two nature-loving biologists (Zoe and Ian), our excitable puppy (Moss), and four chickens (though they usually stay outside). We welcome people from all backgrounds.
Our home is one of the original 1920's Canberra settler's cottages. This means it's super cute with interesting heritage features, but also means it's a little creaky and quirky. The cottage has a cosy living room with a TV and bookshelf that guests are welcome to use, and a separate sunroom with armchairs which is great for reading in the afternoons. We also have a large cottage-style garden with several outdoor sitting areas.
We're in a great location for getting to the city, ANU, and Canberra attractions. The cottage is a 10 minute walk to the local shops, complete with supermarket, bottle shop, a couple of nice restaurants, and a pub. Just across the street from us is a lovely park, and the beautiful Mount Ainslie Nature Reserve is a 5 minute walk away.
We have a very cute, friendly, and well-behaved (for a puppy) 5-ish month old puppy. He (Moss) spends his days in the garden, but tends to come inside for cuddles in the evenings. We walk him twice a day and we'd be happy for guests to join us for walks if they like.
Guests are welcome to use any communal areas of the cottage. This includes our bathroom, fully-equipped kitchen, cosy living areas, and big garden. Guests are welcome to share our cereal, milk, tea, and coffee.
Please remember that all the communal spaces in the cottage are shared with us, so please keep it tidy.
We are more than happy to socialise with guests, as well as offer ideas for things to do in and around Canberra.
This is our home, so we're around most mornings and evenings during the week, but work full time. We tend to be in and out over the weekends. But we'll always be just a phone call away if there's anything you need.

** Pets **
If you have a well-behaved dog, rabbit, hamster, or anything other than a cat (I'm so sorry, but I'm allergic to cats), we are happy to accommodate them. We have a big, fully enclosed garden and there are plenty of nice places to walk in the area, so it's great for dogs. We do ask guests not to leave animals unattended inside the cottage though. Please also note that since we have a puppy, your pet would need to get along ok with other dogs. If you'd like to bring a pet, please ask us about it when you're booking.
