FrenchPark is really 2 luxury homes in one. Just steps away from the 3-bedroom main house is a guesthouse with its own en-suite bedroom. Able to sleep up to 12 guests in all, FrenchPark is ideal for 2 families vacationing together or a group of several couples.
Even before you step inside, you’ll be delighted by your choice of rental. Large decks offer idyllic views of the Sierra Blanco. On warm mornings you can enjoy coffee and toast on the deck; on balmy evenings everyone can gather at the patio’s trestle table for an alfresco dinner. There’s a large gas grill on the patio too, perfect for barbecuing any trout you might reel in from a nearby stream—or steaks from a nearby grocery store. When the temperatures dip you’ll want to sit around the fire pit to tell stories beneath the star-studded sky. And anytime is a great one for lazing in the deck’s hot tub, though the massaging jets of water will feel especially pampering when you return from a day of the ski slopes or the hiking trails.
FrenchPark is just as restful and enticing indoors. The great room makes up most of the main house’s ground floor. The wood-beamed ceiling and wood-planked floors give the airy space a rustic refinement. At the same time, the leather sofas and the large flat-screen TV over the fireplace are pure luxury.
The dining table easily seats 10 people, and 3 more can sidle up to the adjacent breakfast bar. You might have planned to eat most of your meals out—numerous restaurants are only minutes away—but once you see FrenchPark’s kitchen, you’re likely to change your mind. Equipped with sparkling stainless-steel appliances, gleaming white counters, and bevy of cookware and tableware, the open kitchen makes cooking a pleasure.
Each of the 3 bedrooms in the main house includes a king-size bed, a TV, and a private bathroom. Two of these suites are extra lavish, with their own sitting areas and a separate soaking tub in addition to a shower in their bathrooms. The upstairs den can pinch-hit as an additional bedroom: Along with yet another flat-panel TV, it features a leather sofa that opens into a queen-size bed (and there’s something magical about falling asleep beneath a skylight).
The 4th bedroom, in the guesthouse, also boasts a king-size bed, a TV, and a bathroom. In addition, it features a fireplace, certain to add romance to chilly winter evenings. The guest house living room has a fireplace as well, along with a large flat-screen TV. It has a fully appointed kitchen too, complete with ample storage and plenty of counter space. Furnished to the same exceptional standard as the main house, FrenchPark’s guest house could be a first-rate getaway in and of itself.
Other amenities include a washer and dryer in the main house, a 2nd queen-size sleeper sofa, and free WiFi and cable TV. And then there’s FrenchPark’s convenient location. Just a half-hour’s drive away is Ski Apache, the country’s southernmost continually operating ski resort. (Note that because you’re in ski country, during winter you may need a 4x4 or chains on a 2-wheel drive vehicle to access the home.)
More outdoor fun is even closer. In only 5 minutes you can drive to Alto Lake and Recreation Area; when you’re not fishing, you can explore the surrounding trails on foot, mountain bike, or horseback. Just a few minutes beyond the lake are the Links at Sierra Blanca and Ruidoso Winter Park, where you can snow tube in winter and soar on a zip line year-round. And in 20 minutes you can drive to Grindstone Lake and Trail System, where you can fish, boat, hike, ride mountain bikes and horses, and play disc golf.
However you spend your days, you’ll love relaxing at FrenchPark afterward. Don’t let this gem of a retreat get away; book your stay today.
