The Gatehouse and Greenloft House (our home) are separate farm buildings which have been carefully converted into a unique holiday location. The neighbours are more than a field away in any direction, but the village and the sea are within sight.
The kitchen/living room is a spacious 120 square feet. It has two sofas and a dining table with four chairs.
One bedroom has a double bed, the second bedroom has twin beds.
There is an entrance hall, a bathroom off the entrance hall, and a second toilet /en suite shower room which adjoins the double bedroom.
Off-road parking is provided for two cars right at the front door. Access to the site is by an all-weather farm track (there are two farm gates to open and close). Keys are available on arrival from the owner who lives in the next block of farm buildings.
We have an all-season minimum booking requirement of £300 which is typically a long weekend, but in the main season the minimum is 7 days with a Friday change-over.
We are on site to provide help and advice as needed, but will not intrude during your stay.
John is usually busy with his land management activities - hedge-laying or coppicing when the days are short / mending walls and charcoal-making when the days are longer, but now and then he gets distracted and can be found making land art.
Sue paints sews gardens and cooks, among her many other activities.
No pets - we want to keep the wildlife coming close to the Gatehouse. The lucky ones have seen badgers, foxes and deer. Everyone see loads of birds ... and rabbits.
No smoking indoors, please.
Arrive after 1530 on your first day / depart by 1030 on your last.
When the days are long I should be making charcoal or mending cob and lime walls.,
When the days are short I should be laying my hedges or coppicing in my woodlands.
However, I find the materials I handle each day distract me from these essential tasks and lure me into making land art.
We manage some beautiful farmland and make time for art too.
