So I went into this rental completely blind. There was no description of amenities but I wanted to get out of my hotel and into an apartment. I was surprisingly pleased with the studio apartment. However, it is not the one pictured here on airbnb... The apartment was a studio apartment in an apartment complex on the ground floor. It had a great, huge bed in the bedroom area, and there was an older tv with satellite programming! There also was a wall air-conditioning unit (thank goodness!) It was not mentioned in the description, but I was extremely thankful for it because it was really hot in Cancun. The bathroom was quite bare, mirror had broken and was removed, very basic mexican shower and bathroom. But surprise, there was hot water! The kitchen area was basically a sink, counter, and a small table with 2 chairs. There were a few random plates and cups, but no utensils or sponges or anything. Oh, there was a full refrigerator as well! No stovetop or microwave oven in the kitchen for cooking, however. Jorge was very nice. He owns and rents several apartments in the region. The apartment doesn't have wifi internet. The location of the place is great. It is along major bus routes and I walked to downtown and the mercados. Across the street is a trendy hamburger place called A La Burger. Huge hamburgers there. On the corner across the intersection is also a quesadilla fast food restaurant (Mexican chain store) as well as a rotisserie chicken place. Oxxo is one big block away to the east. I would definitely stay here again on a return visit to Cancun. Oh, best if you bring those raid anti-mosquito plug in things. There are mosquitos in the apartment! You can also find it at the Oxxo for around 30 pesos.
