Unique property in the historic centre of the Village of Sintra, just a stone throw away from major attractions, museums and restaurants.
This property is a large, open-plan, newly-refurbished one bedroom flat in the heart of historic Sintra. It is situated 150 meters from the National Palace in a quiet largo (cul-de-sac) with space for parking (first-come, first-serve). The location means that everything historic Sintra has to offer is within a few minutes walk. Handily, the bus stop to the Pena Palace and Moorish Castle is less than a hundred meters away. We've found that it's also a great base for exploring the greater Lisbon area, including the famous beaches of Cascais and Estoril and the surrounding Parque Natural de Sintra-Cascais. Lisbon itself is a half-hour drive away (40 minutes by train) and as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe is well worth a visit.
The ground floor of the flat is comprised of a living-room, dining area and kitchen as well as a tiled outdoor patio. The kitchen is fully-fitted with modern appliances, including a fridge/freezer, microwave, electric oven/stove and dishwasher. It has also been stocked with all necessary smaller appliances such as a hand-held blender, electric kettle, toaster and coffee-press. You will also find a wide selection of cookware and tableware. The living-room has a television, DVD player and iPod player. The sofa also folds out into a double bed.
The large bedroom and en-suite bathroom take up the entire lower-ground floor. In the bedroom you will find a king-size bed, clothes rack and chest of drawers. We have also included a room divider so if you're sharing the flat you can retain privacy while allowing access to the bathroom for those sleeping upstairs. There's also a small study area with desk packed full of guides to local attractions which you're welcome to use during your stay. The bathroom is fitted with a new shower and toilet as well as a modern washer, modern dryer and linen closet.
Guests will have exclusive access to the entire property and all amenities.
We do not get to interact with guests as we live in the UK. Alex, our property manager, will be your main point of contact. He will be in charge of check-in and coming to your rescue in the unlikely event that something goes wrong at the property. Alex has lived in the area all his life and runs a local family business, meaning he is extremely knowledgeable about Sintra and how it has changed over time. If there is something in particular you would like to do, ask him during check-in and he will be able to point you in the right direction.

Sintra is a very humid micro-climate and our property is built on a hill-side. It is over 200 years old. Whilst we air the apartment regularly and provide two dehumidifiers and two ventax in the downstairs areas, be aware that it can still be humid at times.

Four adults is the maximum number of people allowed; however, small children will not count as part of this maximum allowance. Even though we cannot provide cots, children are welcome at the property.
The flat will be handed over to guests clean, with enough clean linens for up to four people. We appreciate if you deposit your rubbish and recyclables in the appropriate area at the top of the road by the bus stand. Although we will do a full clean after each guest has checked out, please be considerate of our cleaning staff and leave the property in a reasonable state.
