I don't disagree with your perspective. see feedback I sent back to Airbnb ourselves, because they have threatened to delist our property because of your low rating.
I just got a email warning me of a possible delisting of our property: Tasteful Cottage by the Sandbanks, Cherry Valley, ON due to a a low Review. Clearly the review wasn't read and must be lost on you in that the Guests issue was with Airbnb, not our property or as us as Hosts. Given the guest was charged $808 and we realized $688 in revenue, including all fees incurred by us, I think he has a point and hardly think we should be penalized. If it is Airbnb's intent to threaten hosts to keep artificially high ratings so that Airbnb can make indecent profits at our expense then maybe we should be listing our property on (Hidden by Airbnb) or other sites.
That being said, Sandbanks Summer Village wasn't being completely honest and upfront with you regarding Cottage Pricing. What they don't tell you up front is that there are Resort Access Fee's - $35 per cottage per day, Cleaning fee and taxes and you'd realize to same costs if Airbnb was removed from the equation.
