The apartment is part of a detached stone house set on a small organic farm in the hills west of Arezzo, with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, which offers many interesting walks. It enjoys great privacy, with its own separate entrance and separate large terrace with a dining table under a fig tree, and sun loungers. It consists of a large room with a king bed, and a sitting area with a wood burning stove. There is a fully equipped kitchen with dining area, and a small shower room. Next to the apartment, accessible from the terrace, there is another room with desk and internet connection. and a single bed, with the possibility of a second. A washing machine can be shared. Linen and towels are provided.
It is a simple but stylish space suited to those for whom natural beuaty and trqanquillity are more important than luxury. It is also a good space for families with children (swing, table tennis, animals) who will enjoy the farm with its chickens, fruit and olive trees, large garden, and the organic vegetables and fruit, rich herb and flower garden, fresh eggs, and homemad bread from the pizza oven. If they wish, guests can participate a little in the working of the farm. Half board can be arranged with a two-course dinner of Tuscan cuisine and local wine
The road to the house is a track of about 800 metres. The last section of two hundred metres is steep and winding, but does not require a four-wheel drive. Guests can sometimes park at the top and walk down. By car or by foot, the journey is worth it! The nearest village of Salutio is ten minutres by car and has a small general store and a good bakers. There is a good simple local restaurant in the village of Talla about 8km away, and an excellent pizza place at Subiano some ten kilometres. There is an excellent riverside restaurant with imaginative Italian cuisine at reasonable prices at Panta Rey. There is a weekly market in neaby Rassina as well as local supplies of organic honey and pecorino and ricotta.
The house can be reached by plane to Pisa, Florence or Rome and then a train to Arezzo. station which is I hour from Pisa. 2 hours from Florence, 3 from Rome. Owning a car is highly recommended but I am happy to meet guests at Arezzo station
