Fall is lasting longer this year and the weather is great! This quiet and comfortable 2nd floor apt is a great location for leaf-peeping trips, walks around the community, and easy access to the bike path. Close to dining, shopping, a local brewery, as well as a variety of seasonal offerings, the Big Green Victorian offers the comforts of home with a variety of options close by. Jay Peak is a beautiful 30 minute drive away. Come experience the beauty of foliage, and the Welcome of the NEK!
The apartment offers a Queen-size bed and attached bath. Cable, WiFi and laundry facilities. The kitchen is complete with amenities (refrigerator, stove, micro, pots/pans, dishes...). The bathroom's authentic clawfoot tub and shower provide comfort sitting or standing! A screened in porch offers an additional social area (depending on the weather!). The comfortable large living room is adjacent to the kitchen and bedroom. Complimentary fruit, water, milk, and muffins round out the offering.
The second bedroom, with a full-size bed, is available for guests of 3 or 4. If however, you are 2 people. but not a "couple", just let me know. I can accommodate you.
I offer a "Special Rate," for 1 or 2 people only, who don't want the kitchen/laundry. Ask me about it.
Entrance to the apartment is through the main (shared) hallway in the front of the house, and up the stairs. Access to the apartment is private. Keys provided at check in.
I look forward to welcoming you personally, but your arrival is based on your schedule, not mine. I like to contact my guest prior to their arrival to explain how to get to my driveway and into the house. When you arrive, the house and the apartment will be unlocked, and ready. Instructions about the keys and the doors are provided once you arrive.
As it is a big house, I live here as well. So, if you are in need of something, I'm available and will do my best to help you.

My "Big Green Victorian" is just 15 minutes from Derby Line if you are traveling for passport related issues.
Newport itself, sits at the southern end of Lake Memphremagog, an Indian name meaning (and fitting), "beautiful waters." From the "BGV" you're a 5 minute walk to the lake where you can book a cruise on The Northern Star or walk along the bike path.
Newport has an 18 hole golf course with several other courses within a 25 mile radius.
The top of the lake is in Magog, PQ (Canada), a charming, French Canadian city, 40 minutes away by car. Along the way, the trip takes you through some of the lovely Eastern Township communities, that offer wineries, antiques, art, and more! A passport is required.
I ask that there be No Smoking anywhere in the house and that includes the porch as well. As for other, "House Rules," if you are a caring, respectful, fair, and honest person; in my house no more is required.
I think of myself as creative and eclectic. You’ll pick up on that, when you arrive. My Airbnb offering is a comfortable combination of different time periods, ranging from the 1970’s to today. I was left a big house, with furniture in good condition, so it just seemed natural to put it to good use. Many of my guests have commented on how the furnishings create a sense of comfort, and welcome.
Most of my professional life, away from here, has been in the service industry. Because of that, I enjoy finding ways to put people at ease, be comfortable, and want to return. I believe that being a good host means, being happy yourself and then, making sure your guests are happy. The reviews and comments of my guests are always appreciated and taken to heart when preparing for new guests to arrive.
My life, to date, has been filled with amazing experiences. I’ve always tried to live it being curious and respectful. If I had a life motto, it might be based on a quote of Robert Louis Stevenson, “The world is so full of a number of things, I’m sure we should all be as happy as kings.”
