If you like the Ahwahnee hotel in Yosemite, you'll love our little Ahwahnee-be cabin. Decorated with mission oak furniture and Indian themed fabrics and Pendletons, this 1953 vintage cabin is just an 8 minute walk into town. 10% county tax included.
FALL SPECIAL: Stay the weekend and get Thursday or Sunday night at half price! Good until Nov 16. (You will pay normal price, then get a refund ASAP).
Walk to county and state parks, hiking trails, bouldering and skate park. A beautiful real river rock fireplace is at the heart of this unique cabin. Large 1/2 acre lot with a badminton court. Downstairs is a game room/theater/bar and large screen TV with surround sound, DVD, X-Box 360 and PS2 game consoles.
Another nice feature of this cabin is the real plaster ceiling. Many of the cabins in Idyllwild have the same wood paneling on the ceiling as the walls. This makes for a rather dark room, and a feeling as though one is living in a crate.
Some reviewers have mentioned the word "loft" for the upstairs bedroom. To be clear, it is a large finished attic room with it's own door to the stairs. The ceiling, however, is 6 feet high, so us tall ones have to stoop a little!
$30 pet fee per booking.
We are pretty flexible with check-in and check out times, except when it is booked consecutive days. Just ask the day before you arrive.
We do have another cabin in Idyllwild, but it is also on Airbnb (Twin Rock Tree House) so we may or may not be in town. Call or text us anytime.

We have a window air conditioner in the living room only. There are fans in every room to move that cool air around. Usually we open the windows at night and close them in the mornings on hot days and the place will stay cool most of the day, even without the air conditioner on.
There are a couple of flannel shirts in the closet. Feel free to use them during your stay – just leave them on the floor when you leave so they can be laundered.

Just treat our cabin as you would treat your home!
Please no loud voices on the deck at any time. Although we are not that close to our neighbors, voices do carry in our little canyon. Especially 10pm-8am.
Pet owners are not allowed to instant book, and are accepted on a case by case basis. We have had too many issues with pet hair on our woolens and furniture. $30 pet fee per booking. This is not necessarily a penalty for pet owners, but more of a "discount" for those without. Also, we restrict pets during peak holiday periods.
Absolutely no pets on the furniture or bedding. Please do not leave your dog alone in the cabin while you are gone—most restaurants in town allow dogs on their patio. Also – if you are approved to bring your pet, please put all woolen Pendleton blankets in the closet when you arrive. They are a magnet for pet hair and extremely difficult to clean.
Maximum 6 guests please. As noted in the description, the upstairs bed is a double, so 6 adults is a little tight for this cabin.
Please do not make the beds when you leave. Most of our guests are so good it is hard to tell if a bed has been slept in!
No filming or other commercial endeavors.
John grew up going to Idyllwild as a child. His parents enrolled him and his siblings at ISOMATA (Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts—now Idyllwild Arts Academy), where they learned photography, ceramics, and dance. John brought Lara to Idyllwild for the first time last year, and on her third visit, she owned this cabin. Lara's dad, a retired horticulturist, also finds solitude among the trees. They spend their free time (when not working on the cabin ;-), hiking and climbing the beautiful local mountains.
