It was a great experience staying with Elaine and her family. The house is very lovely and warmth. Elaine is always willing to help out in anything. She and her husband gave me rides to the University where I attended a workshop for a week. Although I was busy with the workshop and didn't get to spend more time with her as much I wished, the experience was much beyond expectation. I would totally stay with her again if I had another chance to go to NY.

The overall experience was good but the listing wasn't entirely accurate. The apartment is certainly spacious and clean. The hosts were gracious and welcoming. The apartment is in a beautiful area of Great Neck. However, the listing didn't mention the fact that the apartment is actually in the basement of the host's house. There is hardly any natural light and there is no phone signal. As a result, it's not a place that you can hang out in during the day. The host's laundry room is also situated within the apartment so we were mildly surprised to see a maid with a laundry basket wandering through the apartment intermittently. The property hadn't been fully cleaned prior to our arrival. The coffee pot was full of stale coffee. The fridge contained various out of date things that previous tenants had left behind. The dishwasher had dirty plates in it. These are all minor things, and overall, we didn't mind - it served our purpose. However, there is room for improvement.

Our hosts welcomed us and made us feel right at home. The apartment is attached to their home, so they were nearby if we had any questions. They are located in a very safe residential neighborhood. Everything was clean and the space was quite large and comfortable. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you!

Erin was a great host and I would stay at his space again if and when I am back on Long Island for other family affairs. We were greeted warmly and offered refreshments upon arrival. His space was cozy and inviting.

I stayed at this place for a concert with my boyfriend because it is relatively close to the Jones Beach Theater. The original host, Erin, I spoke with once before my trip was nice. However, for our actual stay we had a different host. Not a big deal, but a notice of the switch would have been appreciated, especially because we got a bit lost and tried to contact Erin for help. Outside of that minor problem, the place was ok. It's a basement under a house in a residential area. The area doesn't seem to be the best. The house itself looks a bit rundown, but the rental was clean and updated. Our smoke detector' s batteries were low so we had to deal with the incessant beeping through the night which was hard to sleep with. We let the new host know, who then said she was going to change them after we left. Just a nod to others, the beds are futons. They can fit two people a bit snugly and aren't the most comfy. Bathroom is very odd and ceiling clearance wouldn't be good for anyone over 6 feet tall. While that was fine for me, it was a nuisance and very uncomfortable. Overall, the place was decent and the price was fair. I wouldn't stay here again because of the noise, the neighborhood, and the overall comfort in the place for my boyfriend and I wasn't the best. But don't be dertered as it was still decent, it just didn't work for us.

Great place quiet for just like being in your apartment

Erin gave me information on getting in his place. Where the towels and sheets are stored. His place is clean and we'll kept. Every thing he provided was in great condition and worked great to. It was a 35 min. Walk to Hofstra University. It's a nice walk with tree lined streets. Every house in his are has we'll kept lawns. My daughter and I enjoyed staying there.

I've had many great experiences at Airbnb and this was not one of them. The biggest problem was the bathroom - it was only 5'8". I'm 6' and it was not possible to shower or brush my teeth without hunching over the entire time. We wish that this had been explained in the description so we'd known this wasn't a good fit. Another thing that was left out of the listing is the requirement to make your own beds. The futons were pretty uncomfortable and to make matters worse, it was pretty hot in the basement. The fan and dehumidifier don't do much. For the record, it was a high of 87 and low of 72 that day and it felt cooler outside. Needless to say, we did not get a good night's sleep. We never could get the wifi to work (and it wasn't just our machines since their Amazon Fire TV didn't work either). They tried resetting it but it still didn't work. Maybe another reset would have done the trick but the point is its not reliable if you need consistent internet. Bottom line, if this had been a really cheap rental and everything had been explained up front, we would have been much more understanding but the lack of explanation here is the real problem. On the positive side, the neighborhood seemed nice and quiet, the air hockey table was fun, and we appreciated the apple slices in the fridge.

I stayed at John's apartment with a small group of friends while we were in town for a wedding and it was perfect for our needs. It was super cute, clean and welcoming. The place was secured with a keypad so no key to worry about losing. The 10-15 minute walk to the LIRR wasn't too bad, especially because the house is in a quiet, well-kept neighborhood. There was plenty of street parking, too. John was super accommodating and quick to reply to questions; he dropped off a fruit basket, coffee and milk and after the trip contacted me to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. I did let John know that the apartment was chilly on our last night and he was gracious about the feedback. This was my first Airbnb booking and it could not have gone more smoothly. I definitely recommend this! Thanks, John!

John is a great host and very kind. He left fruit, milk, coffee and treats upon our arrival and again on the second week since we had a long stay. John checked in often to see if all is okay on a regular basis. He was also helpful with restaurant recommendations and golf courses. Beds were comfortable and linens were very nice. Angela was the best host ever! We had a wonderful stay at her house for 18 days! And my two girls like her a lot! She even cooked for us for very delicious food, and she is very welcoming and nice! The place is also convenient for commuting everywhere in Long Island and Manhattan, 40 mins ride to Manhattan and 10 mins to the beach! Really worth staying!

Sariati and John were very gracious and accommodating hosts. As a first time visitor to Long Island and New York, they made going around a lot easier. Sari toured me around the area and and brought me to the train station to get me to New York City. They even allowed me and another guest use their car so that we could watch a free concert at a park on a Saturday evening. And John and Sari brought me to the course venue the two mornings I needed to be at 7am. Really gracious of them. The house is nice and clean. The room I stayed in was especially clean and the toilet spotlessly clean. If I were to return for another course, I would undoubtedly stay here again. Thank you Sari and John for a wonderful stay.

My second stay with Sariati and John was equally as pleasant as my first stay! I booked two beds with a shared bathroom. It worked out great!

Tamara was a wonderful host. Check in/key retrieval was easy...apartment is bigger than the pics make it look. Literally across the street from the Long Island Railroad and lots of places to eat just steps away!

Ok... I will start this off with the one negative. It's not the easiest place to find if you are unfamiliar with the area. However, a quick call to Tamara (who is always available) and that was quickly solved. Now, on to ALL of the positives (and there are plenty). You will not find a more convenient spot. It has quaint restaurants just steps away (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). And, if you intend to use the LIRR system, it is THE closest property to the station. Seriously, it is across the street. There is metered parking less than 10 feet from the entry door. Even though there aren't many spaces, I always managed to find one. It's a lively area, but noise was never an issue. The apartment is accessed through a sidewalk-level entry door and a single flight of steps. The place has lots of cool amenities; coffee makers, 2 BIG screen televisions, VERY comfortable bed, and dependable wi-fi. I would not hesitate to stay here again. On return trips to Long Island, this is the place that I will try to book first. All in all, I give it two thumbs WAY up.

Luciene was a good host. Even though I reached pretty late at night she was there to welcome us and showed us around. She also answered all the questions I had for her. We were a group of four people. The bed in the bedroom was comfortable but the two smaller beds in the living room were not very comfortable. It is good place to stay for up to 2 people in my opinion.

The listing was as accurate as can be. It was my first time using airbnb and I let Mei know that. She and her husband made an extra effort to help me feel comfortable and relaxed. The place is in a wonderful safe location and very close to everything in the area. They made me feel like it was my home and I felt comfortable really quickly. They are wonderful hosts, and gave me my space as I needed to do some work, but were always available to chit chat or to provide advice about the neighborhood and the area. They were extremely generous as well. They made my first experience with airbnb a really great one.

I stayed with Mei and Angelo for two nights while I was in town for a wedding in Long Island. Location was great for quick trips to the city as well. They were extremely responsive and helpful throughout my entire stay. When my flight got delayed, they had no problem accommodating my late arrival. Once I arrived, the little things made it a great experience: water and snacks always available, brewing a fresh pot of coffee for me, fresh cut fruit, public transportation questions answered, borrowing a clothes iron, the freedom to come and go at all hours... they went above and beyond to handle all my requests and it was truly a pleasure staying with them. Very friendly hosts that also gave me space and privacy.

The place is also convenient for commuting everywhere in Long Island and Manhattan, 40 mins ride to Manhattan and 10 mins to the beach! Really worth staying!

The location is great, 15 minutes away from the wedding we were attending in Sea Cliff. The bathroom was super clean and modern with a great shower. We never actually met our host Angela, ended up talking to her daughter during our whole visit which was fine. There were lots of sheets and blankets covering all the furniture downstairs and separating the rooms that were not pictured in the photos. Our room was pretty hot with no type of fan available, She did leave a few bottles of water for us which was nice of her. The room did have central air but it was turned off in the middle of the night by our host probably 5 minutes after I turned it on. Between the uncomfortable bed and heat, we didn't sleep very well. Angela's daughter was really sweet though. They let us come and go as we pleased, we did end up coming home late from the wedding, They left the door open for us.

Steve was a fantastic host! He has a beautiful home in a stunning neighborhood. Very clean, well kept, and near restaurants/stores. Definitely recommend for any travelers!

J'y suis allé avant un mariage que je participais à Roslyn. Il était très proche de la salle. Leur cour était belle et je voudrais avoir plus de temps pour profiter de la cour Leurs animaux étaient également chaleureux et comme propriétaire de l'animal loin de la maison qui est toujours un plus.

This is a great place to stay if you have a car and are staying in the Long Island/Roslyn area. I would recommend it for people traveling alone for business. Steve is very helpful and friendly but allowed plenty of privacy.
