“Ancient Town - Night market Hoi An is a lovely little town on the coast of Vietnam. In the 16th and 17th century it played a major role as a trading port. Japanese, Chinese, Dutch and Indian merchants lived and did their business here, leaving a legacy of historic buildings, colonial architecture and a lovely waterfront. Nowadays the Ancient Town of Hoi An is a living museum and is registered as one of the UNESCO Heritage Sites, attracting a lot of tourists every year. Hoi An is famous for its lanterns and you will find them here everywhere. Waterfront in Hoi An is great for walks at any time of a day. At Central Market you can observe the local life.”

Landmark
“The bridge was opened by Nguyen Phuc Chu Lord in 1719 who carved three Chinese symbols above the door in commemoration. The bridge also features the sculptures of two dogs and two monkeys representing the Chinese years in which many Japanese Emperors were born along with the fact that the building of the bridge began in the year of the dog and was completed in the year of the monkey. The Japanese Covered Bridge underwent renovation work in 1986 which saw the restoration of the arch that was once flattened to make way for cars. Today, the bridge stands as a symbol of Hoi An and remains as aesthetically pleasing as it was when it first opened.”

“Morning Glory Restaurant serves an array of Central Vietnamese street food and traditional dishes in a stylish setting. The restaurant occupies a refurbished colonial building along Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, featuring an open kitchen downstairs and a breezy terrace that overlooks Hoi An Ancient Town. Highly recommended Hoi An dishes include the seafood mi quang noodles, claypot fish in caramel sauce, and pork-stuffed squid. Morning Glory is also a good dining option for vegetarians – try the stir-fried baby celery and beansprouts, vegetable curry soup, and crunchy tofu coated in young sticky rice.”

“As a "national" dish of Vietnam, Hoi An bread is still very much sought after in all shared Hoi An travel experiences. A loaf of "full" bread with char siu, grilled meat, pork rolls, pate and homemade butter sauce, pickles ... will be enough to appeal to anyone, whether you are a believer of this dish or not. .”

“Just in case you are craving for western food, this is the place to go to. Gordon the owner really built a hotspot for the expat community in Hoi An, making his own bread, meat and cheese. It's pricy, yes, but the food is damn good. ”
