“Pericnik Waterfall is a magnificent waterfall located in the beautiful Vrata valley, about half an hour drive from Bled. The road from the village of Mojstrana is slightly uphill, but not too difficult. It follows a small river called Triglavska Bistrica, which is picturesque. The short walk up to the Pericnik falls is steep but fun and takes less than 10 minutes. The falls are spectacular (52 meters drop). You can walk behind it and climb right down to the pool beneath it too (as long as you don’t mind being sprayed with mist). In winter, the waterfall turns into innumerable icicles and floes in delicate shades of blue and green.”

“Near Martuljek Waterfalls a man named Ingo revived the old pasture in the mountains (40 minute walk from Martuljek). He and his family started writing a story of living in symbiosis with nature, producing their own food and offering it to their guests. Try their natural juices, herbal tea, homemade spirit. A bowl of tasty stew made over an open fire cauldron will certainly do you well. Those with a sweet tooth can enjoy their dessert specialties. ”

“Two fantastic waterfalls! Under the Špik Mountain you will find two waterfalls – pearls of the Slovenian Alpine world. Especially spectacular is the Upper Martuljek waterfall, which descends in three stages over the vertical wall of 110m. The path to it is relatively easy, however the trail to the vicinity of the waterfall is only suitable for well-equipped mountaineers. Then, the stream continues through the Jasenje mountain and as the Lower Martuljek Waterfall runs over the 50-metre-high wall in a 400-metre-long and narrow Martuljek Gorge formed in limestone. We recommend visiting both waterfalls during late spring, when the waterfalls have the most water due to the melting snow. A wonderful trip is complemented by home-made food from a well-known ‘Pri Ingotu’ cabin and a visit to the charcoal pile on the way”
