This is the buffet and prepared food section of Whole Foods. Its actually a great option if you need quality food, in a hurry. They have a burrito bar, a cafe, a hot and cold buffet, and plenty of prepared salads. Burrito bowl is a big win.

They also have regular organic milk and butter. They bake gluten-free cookies, brownies, donuts and other loafs that are super delicious! It's a 10 minute walk from our place just down the street.

Aphrodites is one of my favorites - they are an organic cafe with local foods, delicious house-baked bread & pies (including gluten-free options!) They have amazing breakfast, and lunch. You can go for dinner as well, but they are at their best during breakfast/brunch. After breakfast, you could easily walk down to the beach or drive to Jericho beach. There are also bookstores across the way, thrift shops, a juicery, a pharmacy and an IGA.

A rainforest in the city. This place is not to be missed, in any season. Old-growth trees, miles of trails, and epic views from the beaches. Spend a full day here exploring the trails, or bike around the perimeter.

A free expression area, which also happens to be a great sunset spot. You'll see lots of characters here. Its always a great spot to spend an afternoon. Great views of the sunset, and a good workout when you head back up the 400 stairs through the rainforest.

The outdoor pool at Kitsilano beach is a community center style set-up overlooking the beach. You can take the kids or go on your own and swim in the pool on a hot-day. Kits beach is a 10-12 minute walk from our place.

Kits beach is the closest to us, a 10-12 minute walk from here. It's often quite busy on hot-days and there are lots of people with BBQ's, picnics, or playing frisbee. There's also a bunch of volleyball on the sandy part of the beach and you can take a walk on the seawall around the city if you start at Kits beach and go all the way to Granville Island, another great shopping spot and local market.
