El Primo tacos are much more like authentic mexican street tacos and listed frequently as some of the best in the city. the people who run it are amazing, you may need to wait 15-20 minutes for your order, it's a small truck and they get busy. but it's worth it.

Bouldin Creek Cafe has been in the hood for nearly 20 years. It's a home grown local favorite and we love them. they are a vegetarian restaurant and coffee shop, but they have really good food so non-veggie friends will be happy there too. I've gone through phases of going there daily, it's too busy for that now:-)

It's a home grown local favorite and we love them. they are a vegetarian restaurant and coffee shop, but they have really good food so non-veggie friends will be happy there too. The only Thai restaurant in the city to care responsibly raised meats, use locally sourced produce and pays all employees fair wages, health care, and vacation time. Before they started doing all that great stuff they were just a family owned business making great food, but we like them more for their commitment to their employees wellbeing. Everything there is good. My favorite is the green bean dish with pork

La Mexicana is a 24 hour mexican bakery which makes is a great place to hit at 1 or 2 am when you're stumbling home from being out. You can get a variety of greasy mexican foods and they have churros and horchata.
