Myrtle Beach is a big tourist area with a large year-round population. Some places to eat and shop are better than others, as you can imagine. I will provide some tips prior to your arrival.
Best fresh seafood in town. Don't go to the big seafood buffets... go here instead for food that was JUST MADE for your order, not pulled out of the freezer and set in a giant steam tray for the less-discriminating.

Fantastic home cooking. It is usually pretty busy, for good reason. Real good down home food. If you are on a diet, you should probably wait to go here because you will not be able to resist the mac and cheese.

If you need to go to a WalMart, go to this one. There's one that is closer (on Seaborad Street), but it is so crowded that every day is like the weekend before Christmas!! Drive a couple extra miles and go to this one, and it's right next to Tanger Outlets and Restaurant Row!
