Things To Do & See

Outlined below are some suggestions of things to do and restaurants to visit when you're in Toronto. We're always happy to answer any questions you might have.
See a Toronto Blue Jays’ Baseball game at the Rogers’ Centre (hopefully the roof will be open!). We’d recommend buying tickets outside of the stadium from the scalpers/re-sellers as you’ll likely be able to purchase tickets at below face value. Please keep in mind the team is rebuilding this year so they may not be as strong as prior years, however, it’s a great environment and really fun. The Rogers’ Centre is a 20 minute street car ride or 30 – 35 minute walk from our place;

Visit Toronto Island by taking the public ferry across from nearby Queens’ Quay terminal. There are several beaches and interconnected islands that connected via bridges and walkways. At the island (which is really a large park), you’ll have some of the best city scape views of Toronto (25 - 30 minute walk to the ferry terminal).

The pedestrian-only Distillery District, set in quaint 19th century buildings that once housed a large whiskey distillery, draws crowds to its cobblestone streets lined with hip indie restaurants, bars and boutiques. Art lovers come for the galleries, outdoor sculptures and dance, music and stage performances at the area's several theatres. In December, the annual Toronto Christmas Market takes over the streets. The Distillery District is a 10 – 15 minute walk from our place.

Entrance is free and the farm is open to the public all year-round. It specializes in pioneer breeds of farm animals that are hard to find on commercial farms.[4] Animals at the farm include poultry, waterfowl, goats, sheep, pigs, cows, donkeys, and horses

Take the Queen St streetcar eastbound (20 minutes street car ride) to the Beaches area. There is a long sandy beach with a boardwalk and a number of cafes and beautiful parks. We’d only recommend visiting if the weather is nice and sunny/warm.

There are all kinds of eclectic food joints, vintage clothing retailers and food stores (Blackbird Bakery is awesome!). The market is a bit edgy and some of the people are weird (in a good way – like Austin, TX!).
