Austin has a lot of great restaurants to choose from, no matter what kind of cuisine you're into! These are my own favorites.

This place has a wonderful, huge beautiful patio, with a waterfall, and eco-conscious set up. We often eat at the food trucks while having a beer or two. It's Austin outdoor living at its finest!

Delicious! This restaurant makes food that is so tasty, you wouldn't even know that it is truly healthy! Using top of the line ingredients, the quality shines through to your palate. I can't say enough about how wonderful every dish is here.

Live Music Venues
I love that you can almost always find live music here in Austin, often for free.
Wednesday nights, Guero's hosts Sun Radio, a locally owned radio station that supports live music and musicians. There are usually two live music acts, starting at 6:00 p.m. Margaritas, Mexican beers, tequila shots and really good live music! They serve tacos and tamales, with free chips and salsa, all under some big Live Oak trees. It's truly fabulous, I can't recommend highly enough. Their restaurant indoors is always bustling, too!

Though it's not actually in Austin, it is within driving distance, and well worth the drive. With more of a "beer hall" feeling, there is often live music, outdoor seating for catching the sweet breeze, and fun shopping down the avenue.

Sightseeing
When it's blisteringly hot, this is the best place in town to cool off! The pool stays cool because of the natural springs that feed it from deep below ground. There's also great people watching, with an occasional topless sunbather, FYI

This gigantic grocery store has everything you need, and more. It's the closest to our little condo, but can be overwhelming.

Food scene
This grocery store also has an excellent eat-in dining area, and happy hours with live music! Owned by the same chain as HEB, you can find gourmet bulk items including spices. I love this place!
