Kerriemuir is home of Peter Pan creator JM Barrie, and you can visit his childhood home. Its also where he performed his first play at the age of 7. Kerriemuir is also where Bon Scott, the original lead vocalist of rock band AC/DC was born and he is celebrated every May with the Bonfest music festival.
Sir Hugh Munro, who gave Scotland's mountains of 3,000ft or more their name, was brought up in Angus on the family estate of Lindertis, near Kirriemuir.
