You walk by a beautiful old abandoned monastery, and at the top is a watch tower you can climb up for epic views.

My favorite is the main level where you can hike under the biggest part of the waterfall. There is a giant swimming hole there. It’s incredible. It feels like your swimming in the sky. Make sure you wear shoes and not flip flops (although I’ve done it in flip flops before which was tough) - the hike can get difficult in some areas. You can also access it from the top for an easier hike. There is also another easy hike by there were you can just get a nice view of the entire waterfall from a distance.

If you want to hang in Kingston, Stone Ridge or New Paltz one day there is a hiking trail by that area that I love! It’s a small less trafficked trail that meanders around a creek and then opens up to the Hudson River. You can’t swim there but it’s so beautiful, cool and a great place to picnic! Winding Brook RoadIf you want to hang in Kingston, Stone Ridge or New Paltz one day there is a hiking trail by that area that I love! It’s a small less trafficked trail that meanders around a creek and then opens up to the Hudson River. You can’t swim there but it’s so beautiful, cool and a great place to picnic! It’s one of my favorite hikes.
If you park along the road above the waterfall versus the parking area, there is an entry where the hike starts at a small water hole. This hike doesn’t get too trafficked and I love taking a dip at the end of the hike!
