Beach

Culburra beach has the closest surf beaches to Nowra. During summer both beaches are patrolled. Penguin Head although not patrolled is a great safe place for kids and families. Dogs are allowed on beaches, however, need to remain on leashes between 8:00am and 4:00pm, during summer.

Neighbourhoods

Jervis Bay area is a short drive away and is an amazing place to visit. Trying to describe myself would not give it credit. Try the tourism link below, to get full details: https://www.visitnsw.com/destinations/south-coast/jervis-bay-and-shoalhaven/jervis-bay However, we recommend visiting the local town of Huskisson for great food and a coffee. Definitely, worth a visit is Hyams beach, for the whitest sand beach in world.

Sightseeing

A short drive inland from Nowra, is Kangaroo Valley. The recent bush fires may impact access to the area, but if open is worth checking out. The area is surrounded by Verdant farmland, spectacular wilderness and a tranquil river make this secluded spot in the Shoalhaven region one of Australia’s most beautiful valleys. Kangaroo Valley is a charming village known for its historic bridge, tea rooms and pies. It’s also a popular destination for kayaking, canoeing, golf and wine tasting. The historic Hampden Bridge, is Australia’s last surviving wooden suspension bridge, with its large sandstone turrets.
