Wonderful restaurants in Newport! OVE NORTHWEST When you first enter Ove Northwest, you’ll know you’re in the right place for the perfect meal. Delicious aromas swirl out of the kitchen and you’ll notice the delectable selections that other diners are intently enjoying. A recent addition to the Nye Beach neighborhood, Ove Northwest serves up amazing and affordable lunch and dinner offerings in a simple, yet elegant atmosphere with great views of the Pacific Ocean. The menu consists of New American cuisine that is vegetable forward, seafood focused in season, as local and sustainable as possible, and their dishes pull together international tastes that weave elements of one culture into the whole meal. Combine a few plates for lunch or dinner; no matter what you decide, you’re sure to have a memorable experience that will make you want to return again and try something different.   749 NW 3rd St. in Nye Beach                                                                                                            (541) 264-2990 www.facebook.com/ovenorthwest ASIATICO It’s a little confusing figuring out how to enter Asiatico, the Asian-fusion restaurant on the Bayfront, but follow the signs and stick with it – it’s worth it. If the weather cooperates you can eat out on their waterfront deck. The main event at Asiatico is sushi. The sushi chefs here prepare artistic rolls with creative combos of ingredients. Try the Asiatico Roll (eel, avocado, cucumber, masago, spicy sauce, topped with smoked salmon, black caviar and Japanese mayo) or the Fire Dragon Roll, a classic combination of spicy salmon inside topped with fresh slices of salmon and avocado. The menu includes non-sushi main dishes as well, and you’ll often find fleeting specials using fresh, local fish. Make sure to compliment your dinner with one of their many sake choices. Asiatico is open seven days a week and you can eat in or take out.  875 SW Bay Blvd on the Bayfront (541) 265-8387 www.asiaticofusion.net LOCAL OCEAN No Newport dining list is complete without Local Ocean, the hopping spot on the Bayfront that focuses on fresh, locally-caught seafood. Where do I start with Local Ocean recommendations? The addictive fish tacos? The unbelievable tuna poke with mandarin oranges that I have tried, and failed, to replicate at home? The Dungeness crab po’ boy accompanied by perhaps the best French fries in Newport? Or maybe the warm, hearty Brazilian seafood stew. You have to taste it to believe it but it’s all good at Local Ocean. Even something as simple as fish and chips is transformed into an event. With the opening of an upstairs dining room (my favorite spot and worth the wait for a table), they’ve increased their capacity, but if you have to wait for a table, the good news is that a walk along the Bayfront is a lovely overture to dinner. If you plan on cooking while in Newport, Local Ocean also has a seafood market. Local Ocean is open daily for lunch and dinner. 213 SE Bay Blvd on the Bayfront (541) 574-7959 www.localocean.net GEORGIE'S BEACHSIDE GRILL Something magical happens when the sounds and smells of the sea complement what’s on your plate. It’s harmony. Just visit Georgie’s Beachside Grill and be prepared to experience this melding of mouthwatering Northwest flavors and unparalleled views. From expertly prepared halibut to local favorite Diablo Seafood Pasta—and with vegetarian, gluten-free and kids menu options—Georgie’s is the perfect venue to refuel, relax and enjoy the best of the Oregon Coast. 744 SW Elizabeth St. (541)  265-9800 www.georgiesbeachsidegrill.com CLEARWATER Interested in dinner (or lunch!) and a show? The newest addition to Newport’s culinary scene is Clearwater, located on Port Dock One overlooking the ever-entertaining cavorting sea lions of the Bayfront. The bright, modern-yet-cozy interior complements the fresh, local, seasonal menu perfectly. Try the Dungeness crab mac and cheese, the halibut fish and chips, the duck confit sliders, or the roasted rabbit stuffed with local mushrooms. The menu will change and evolve, so be sure to come back frequently. Happy hour at the Clearwater’s gorgeous upstairs bar features creative cocktails, happy hour specials, and the best view around. Clearwater is open seven days a week. 325 SW Bay Blvd on the Bayfront (541) 272-5550 www.clearwaterrestaurant.com SEA GLASS BISTRO Are you looking for a fantastic dining experience combined with stunning views of Agate Beach and the Pacific Ocean? You’ll find it at Sea Glass Bistro & Lounge! Tucked inside the Best Western Plus Agate Beach Inn, this exceptional eatery offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with an emphasis on coastal cuisine. Treat yourself to a decadent Dungeness crab Eggs Benedict for breakfast, fresh halibut or cod fish & chips for lunch, or their delicious BW Kobe Beef burger for dinner. The Sea Glass Bistro & Lounge menu features plenty of other amazing options that are both traditional and inspired by the Oregon coast, and you’ll love looking out over the Pacific coastline from their comfortable dining room, outside patio, or cozy lounge. 3019 N.
