MAIN INTERMARCHÉ LAGOS: 3 minutes drive from the apartment. Good products. Possibility to buy fish, roast chickens, ready meals... You can make your own fresh orange juice to take home. There also is a café to have coffees, snacks..., also ATMs and a FNAC to buy books, magazines. There's also a gas station.

Beautiful scenery. Very dramatic coastline with stunning rock formations. There is now a boardwalk along the cliffs to go there from Dona Ana Beach parking lot. It is possible to go down to the water level but be prepared for many stairs.

One of the finest church in the whole Algarve. Dating back to 1707, re-built after the Great Earthquake of 1755, it is a fine example of the Baroque style of architecture. It has one of the most breathtaking interior and its baroque gilded woodwork decoration is considered to be one of the finest in Portugal. The walls are covered in 18th century blue and white azulejo panels. It is classified as a National Monument.

A very impressive castle. One of the best preserved Moorish fortifications in Portugal.
Silves is the former capital of the Algarve. It is situated on a hill above the Arade River. From the castle, you can enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the town and its surrounding. Silves also has a nice cathedral, a roman bridge, archeological museum and makes for a very interesting visit but be prepared for steep streets.

Travel through lovely Serra de Monchique, along eucalyptus and mimosas to reach Mount Fóia, the highest point in the Agarve (902m). Spectacular views on a clear day. Have lunch at restaurant Luar da Fóia on the way down.
