1833, the restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel at Oberlin, is a complete delight. It was the first place we tried out when we were looking at moving an event we run over to Oberlin -- and it was a hit! Their food is delicious (make sure you save room for dessert!), served with a quirky sustainable flair that suits Oberlin to the buttons. I have never eaten a more delicious black bean burger in my life than the one they serve - it's so good it makes it hard to try other dishes! Plus, the restaurant looks out over Tappan Square, the park where town & college meet.

Amazing Italian food - chef's kiss!!! A word of warning -- if you're ordering take-out, make sure to call your order in, don't use the website. Orders often take over an hour to be ready, but if you like Italian, the wait is well worth it!

Don't miss this local favorite! The Slow Train gives onto a lovely open seating area with tables spaced far apart, some shaded and some sunny, where you can sit and sip your handcrafted beverage.

A local chain, Aladdin's offers tasty Middle Eastern fare in large portions & low prices. Their chicken shwarma is especially good! Take your treats across the street for an open-air picnic on Tappan Square.

CVS is just a half-block from Inspiration House, and great for any essentials you forgot. Remember to check around Inspiration House first - we have a small selection of fresh toothbrushes, soaps, shampoos, and so on available in case you left yours at home. We've all been there!

Just across the street from Inspiration House, you'll find the North Coast Inland Trail -- a rail trail that runs... well, farther than I can! Passing alongside golf courses, neighborhoods, forests, and fields, this trail is great for walking, biking, and jogging. A little-used local treasure!
