So many stunning beaches in Byron Bay, e.g. Main Beach, Clarkes Beach, the famous Pass, iconic Wategos Beach, Tallows Beach, dog-friendly Belongil Beach ... Also look for more secluded beaches, e.g. near Broken Head.

Walk the scenic lighthouse loop along spectacular beaches and through littoral rainforest. Take a 30min guided lighthouse tour, conducted by volunteers. Confirm availability of the tours as their frequency changes seasonally. Visit the most easterly point on mainland Australia, approximately 300 metres from the lighthouse.

Visit Byron Bay's Farmers Market for local produce, breakfast, live music. Every Thursday morning at Butler St Reserve, between 7am and 11 am! Best to arrive early. Sunday Markets, offering arts, craft, clothing, diverse food, live music ... In Byron Bay on the 1st Sunday of the month in town. In Bangalow on the 4th Sunday of the month at the Show Grounds ... Best between 8am and 1pm.

Many renowned festivals take place in the area annually, including: Blues Festival at Easter, Splendour in the Grass at the end of July, Byron Bay Writers' Festival in early August, Bangalow Music Festival (classical music) mid August, etc.

Watch humpback whales migrate from May to November. Best from a high vantage point, such as -The Byron Bay Lighthouse precinct OR -From a kayak e.g. with local kayak tour company 'Go Sea Kayak' -From a boat with one of the local whale watching tours

Take a kayaking trip with a local operator and spot dolphins, turtles, whales (during migration), sting rays ... E.g. with local kayaking company ‘Go Sea Kayak’ Snorkel or scuba dive in the stunning Julian Rocks Marine National Park with one of the local diving operators. Or take our complimentary snorkel and flipper equipment and snorkel on your own e.g. at the 'Wreck' (submerged ship wreck). Learn to surf or improve your surf skills! Individual coaching e.g. at the famous ‘Pass’ beach with 'Rusty Miller Surf', who are the only authorized surf instructors to teach there.

Why not watch the sunrise from the most easterly point on Australia's mainland, which is located 300m from the lighthouse OR from a hot air balloon! A hot balloon ride e.g. with 'Balloon Aloft Byron Bay' also includes a gourmet breakfast in the fab 'Three Blue Ducks' restaurant at 'The Farm'! Champagne breakfast or VIP flights for 2 are also available on request.

Visit the creative, fab Arts & Industry Estate - just across Ewingsdale Road, so close to us - with edgy shops, factories as well as cool cafes and restaurants such as BARRIO, Vagabond, Stone & Wood Brewery, North Byron Hotel, Kouzina (Greek) ... The Arts & Industry Estate arguably also has Byron's best gyms, pilates and yoga classes, some at the hip retail & lifestyle precinct 'Habitat'. For massages, 'Comma' comes highly guest-recommended. For a coffee, fresh juice or healthy bite afterwards, you can head straight to BARRIO or Vagabond Byron, which are part of 'Habitat' :-)

A must if you love beer! Walk 10minutes (900m) or take our bikes to the hip Stone & Wood Brewery, which is located in a funky shed-like building with indoor and outdoor seating. Choose beers in a tasting paddle or book well ahead for a guided brewery tour. Their most famous beer is the “Pacific Ale”, which is part of the standard beer range. Also try their seasonal brews! On top of that, Stone & Wood has great staff, cool playlists and a chilled vibe. Small plates of edgy canteen food by the "100-Mile-Table" can also be purchased.

Visit the beautiful hinterland, e.g. -Stunning Protesters Falls – but not during a draught. Visit neighbouring villages, e.g. -Bangalow (10 min drive south/inland) with its beautiful heritage main street, eclectic shops and hip cafes and restaurants. -Brunswick Heads (20min drive north) is a seaside village. Has the beautifully restored Brunswick Hotel with beer garden and river frontage across the road, cool shops, cafes and restaurants, e.g. Honour and La Casita. Was the location for the latest ‘Sea Change’ TV series. -Mullumbimby (15 min drive north-west/inland) has some cool shops, a gallery, relaxed cafes and restaurants, e.g. ‘The Rock & Roll Coffee Company' and 'Izakaya Yu.

-Lennox Head is 25min/30km away along the coast road to Ballina. Stop for lunch at 'Shelter' for fantastic food with only the road between you and the ocean. -The historic village of Newrybar is15min/16km away and quite a destination with 'Harvest' restaurant, deli, bakery and coffee cart. 'Harvest' restaurant has a focus on seasonality and showcases diverse local produce, sustainably sourced where possible. Opposite, you will find Newrybar Merchants, a collective of creative local artisans and curators of fine goods, e.g. AYU, D0gh0use, Uscha, My Island Collective, Driftlab, Mark Tuckey ...

TO/FROM TOWN: •Easiest access to CBD and beaches is by car. •Walk or cycle to/from CBD on bike track along busy Ewingsdale Rd. •Taxi to CBD approx. $15 (surcharge on weekends). Ubers are often available at cheaper rates.

CLOSEST BASICS - petrol, supermarket, bottle shops, family friendly hotel - all in Bayshore Drive: -700m to BP Service Station for 24/7 petrol, basic groceries and take-away food -1.3km to IGA supermarket (stocks various local produce) and bottle shop -400m further is the family-friendly 'North Byron Hotel' and a rather eclectic drive-through bottle shop. Ask Julz for great recommendations on good wine and local spirits.

-French Patisserie 'L'Ultime' for baguettes, croissants and cakes is 1.2km metres away in Bayshore Drive -IGA (100m further) stocks fab fresh sourdough, rye and other bread from 'Sunday Sustainable Bakery' in town.

Board the world's first solar train from 'North Beach Station' (between Nth Byron Hotel and Elements Resort) to 'Byron Beach Station' in town. Check timetable online. Usually between 10am and 6pm. $5 p/p one way.
