This cafe is located on the first floor of pre-war shop houses on Petaling Street (KL China Town). They have fancy names on their menu, but incredibly tasty food. After lunch or dinner can walk around the KL China Town or hop into the nearby bar for a drink.

Jalan Alor is a unique food destination in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The whole character of the city changes when you step onto the street. Gone are the modern shopping malls that align the city, which are replaced with something of the past age. During the day, there is not much activity but when the sun goes down, the street will be hustling and bustling with activity. It was once known as a red light district and remnants of those activities still exist. However, after several face lifts, the street has literally become a food haven.

With a large sign in English that reads ‘Lai Foong Restaurant’ facing the road, you’ll find it hard to miss this decades-old coffee shop. Inside, the hawker-style restaurant consists of a cluster of stalls selling its signature beef noodles (the station is managed by the owner of the place himself), char kuey teow, Penang fried kuok teow and other Chinese favourites. Soong Kee is easy to find – spot the tinted glass door and you’ll find crowds crammed together behind the entrance. The slurping sound is unmistakable; Soong Kee’s beef noodles are indeed, exceptionally toothsome. The fresh beef tripes and tenderloin meat undergirds the soup, which turns out flavourful and refreshing. Beef balls

Drinks & Nightlife

Housed in a pre-war shop, PS150 snakes around a tiny stationery shop and under the popular coffee shop, Merchant’s Lane to inhibit the least expected of places. The space is divided into three seating areas that bookmark three distinct eras in the history of Indochine and cocktails. Child-like curiosity is rewarded at PS150 as more than meets the eye with the bar’s unassuming entrance. We won’t give much away here, but once through the doorway, intimate booths greet guests at the entrance. This leads up to an airy outdoor terrace that eventually culminates in a dramatic and atmospheric bar in the depths of the shop. Befitting its location, Far Eastern accents liven up the bar as the interior

Walking into No Black Tie for the first time is almost like an initiation rite into a very exclusive fraternity that embodies the artistic soul and essence of Kuala Lumpur. Every city should have a venue that captures a microcosm of its society; and in this case NBT, as it is affectionately known by its loyal patrons, is this place. Founded in 1998 by Sarawakian born-US trained classical pianist Evelyn Hii, this once humble establishment located five doors from it’s original home has now become an institution in KL. It’s stage has seen the likes of Malaysia’s top singers and musicians and the region’s best, not excluding an impressive lineup of international acts over the years.

Kuala Lumpur is home to a variety of must-see landmarks and experiences. The best place to start is within the KL City Centre district – called KLCC by locals – because of its convenient location in the heart of the city. There are so many things to see and do here, and we will not blame you if you do not know where to start. Our advice is to just jump right in! Kick off with a visit to the iconic PETRONAS Twin Towers, next submerge yourself in retail therapy in Suria KLCC, and then enjoy Aquaria KLCC’s aquatic playground. Located about 11mins away from our place by taxi. http://www.kuala-lumpur.ws/kl-top10s/10-attractions-klcc.htm
