On your way to Jenner or Goat Rock Beach, stop here for your picnic supplies. They make amazing sandwiches as well as sell local cheeses, beers and other delicious food items. The building is ancient and is fun to check out just for the cool factor.

This is a beautiful setting for a bar. It is unusual because it has a pool for the kids (with lifeguard) and serves food as well. Its open all day into the night. You can sit on the lawn in cozy chairs, get served food and drink, all why your kids are whooping it up in the pool. Its a great place to spend the day.

This company will come pick you up at River's Nest, take you to watering holes for the evening or even take you on all-day wine tasting tours. When your fun is done, they get you safely home to River's Nest. Highly recommend.

Fantastic ice cream shop located in downtown Guerneville just 2 blocks from Johnson's Beach. Stop in with the kids on a hot day and enjoy its historic old bank vibe. They also serve a variety of yummy pies. This is a must visit spot.

This place is better than Muir Woods, without the hype or crowds.

Burkes is 'the spot' to rent a canoe or kayak and take a river trip. We did this for my 50th birthday and it was a blast. You need to make reservations ahead, so check it out in advance of your trip. They pick you up at the end of your trip, and it's a total blast. It takes half a day to float from Forestville to Guerneville. Be ready to get wet and do a lot of paddling.

Pee Wee Golf has re-opened in the Rio Nido neighborhood. Walk from River's Nest towards the river, and turn right on Canyon Seven Road. The kids golf play area is on your left near the community gardens, picnic area and dog park. It's a lovely walk in the woods and a fun place to visit.
