St Leonard's church stands on Hythe Hill looking more like a small cathedral. The church is famous for its crypt full of thousands of human bones and skulls. It is an eleventh century church and well worth a visit. The church also regularly hosts music concerts so it is worth looking at the church notice board.

Visit the Crypt (only open May-Sep) - St Leonard’s Church has the largest and best-preserved collection of ancient human bones and skulls in Britain. The collection consists of shelves in four arched bays that contain 1,022 skulls in total, and a single stack of bones and skulls measuring 7.5m in length, 1.8m in width and just over 1.8m high.

Beautiful church which sits on the hill. Has a medieval crypt with skulls which is quite an eye opener
