This is the calligraphy studio that I run, in a snug house facing a peaceful stream that feeds the Shirako River. Our aim is to spread awareness of traditional and modern styles of Japanese calligraphy. We offer lessons—all materials provided—and anyone can give calligraphy a try, from beginners to those looking to be proficient in word character design. I host an Airbnb Experience here called Calligraphy in Motion that’s a perfect intro to the art form for visitors to Tokyo. If you join me, I’ll take you to a farm for natural inspiration then help you to write Kanji in your own unique way.
