The Wedge, A Beautiful place to watch the Waves at the end of Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach. Waking distance to the pier. Very romantic, usually more remote area. The waves are much higher here due to rock jetty, keep that in mind if you choose to surf here.

“Mutt's is a great beach bar/restaurant. It's actually my husband's favorite spot. Usually not super crowded at night, it's hopping during the day. The whole menu is great from the pizza (my husband's favorite), to salads, sandwiches and even breakfast. And they serve schooners of beer. You can't go wrong here.”

“Great place for an afternoon of fun! Balboa Fun Zone has gift shops, little restaurants, penny arcades, a ferris wheel and a couple of other large rides, plus other attractions (street artist who draws portraits of you for a fee; boat rides, etc.). Beautiful Pacific Ocean and a clean beach to the west, swarms of happy people, some of them experiencing for the very first time the many delights of a tacky, low-tech amusement park with a penny arcade and an excellent place for "street photography" because of opportunities to take photos of the colorful ferris wheel, of tourists sporting colorful tattoos, of kids clutching melting ice cream cones, and so on.”

“This is Newport Beach Peninsula's first and oldest drinking parlor. It may be slightly hard to find if you are not familiar with the area... it's not on the boardwalk, and it's not on the street. Instead it sits right in the middle of the two inside an old brick and mortar building. With live music almost every night, this is certainly a place for the party rockers that want to groove and relive the glory days with some classic rock from 80s and 90s cover bands. Be mindful, there is a cash only $5 cover charge.”
