Como Samaná es un santuario natural de las ballenas, que cada año acuden a sus aguas entre enero y marzo para tener a sus crías, no es de extrañar que haya también un Museo de las Ballenas en Santa Barbará que promueve la preservación de la especie y del ecosistema marino. Su principal reclamo es el esqueleto completo de una ballena jorobada.
