Natural fortification with tunnels built for the underground defences below the old castle. Those were dug out during the Spanish period in 1644.

Beautiful place to check out. They've recently renovated the whole thing and if you book around two weeks in advance, you'll get a cool experience out of it. Haven't been myself, but heard good things.

Vast underground system of passages and galleries (known as the casemates) under the ruins of the old castle. Even if you do not enter you have a nice view over the old town from there.

Luxembourg city is riddled with underground passages, many of which are neither mapped nor explored. The Casemates are part of these underground tunnels, originally hewn out by the Romans and later expanded by Napoleons troops. A must visit for anyone visiting the historic city of Luxembourg.
