In the heart of the Salento plain, San Vito dei Normanni is a place where the castle, the churches and the crypt of San Biagio meet the rounded taste of doc wines. San Vito dei Normanni is located 21 km from Brindisi, while the Adriatic is just 9 km away in the coves of the seaside village of Specchiolla. Piazza Leonardo Leo is dominated by the medieval castle Dentice di Frasso where, around the tower, the ancient nucleus of the town called "li stratodde" came to life. Piazza Leo is also overlooked by the town hall, the Church of Santa Maria della Pietà called "of the hospital" due to the contemporary adjoining building and, a little further on, the fifteenth-century facade of the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli. Behind the town hall, the baroque facade of San Giovanni stands out, deconsecrated and used as a cultural container while not far away stands the Church of the Annunziata known as San Domenico, home to the municipal library and the Museum of Rural Civilization which houses the tools used by peasants , carpenters and grinders from the 18th century to the 1950s. Consecrated to Santa Maria della Vittoria, the Mother Church was built in memory of the battle of Lepanto in 1571, then superimposing an eighteenth-century facade. Near Masseria Jannuzzo, however, stands the Crypt of San Biagio, a Byzantine sanctuary with frescoes and obtained inside a cave.

Paese di 25.000 abitanti si trova di tutto dalle grandi catene di supermercati, alle piccole bancarelle di frutta ed ortaggi della zona. Consigliata la passeggiata nel piccolo centro storico tra piccole piazze e chiese barocche.
