Then you’ll buckle in—once we arrive on the east side of Zion, you’ll learn how to safely rappel these secret slots with a licensed team of guides there to hold your rope (and your hand). With private access to the slots, you’ll get to hike, canyoneer, and rappel the world in between. Bring your camera so you can capture all your Indiana Jones-style adventure. Multnomah Falls and other waterfalls and vistas of the Columbia Gorge are astonishing icons of geology, the sort that have inspired mythology and lore of warriors, gods and passions. We will drive out in our vans to meet the tallest waterfall in the state, and then drive to a few of the shorter but even more stunning ones, too; falls which could only be the daughters and sons of legend. In this half-day experience, we will explore wonders with some short hikes (totaling less than 2.5 miles/4 km) and visits to overlooks and vistas that will have you gasping in awe. While Multnomah Falls and its iconic Benson Bridge are together the most-visited tourist attraction in the Portland area, they are only a part of our experience. We will meet at our shop in inner SE Portland, where we'll ride in our comfortable Sprinter and Transit vans to the nearby gorge. Depending on weather conditions, we will visit a few small hidden waterfalls and spectacular plunge-style falls whose columnar basalt has us learning words for "amazing" in other languages. We'll also tell you stories, geology, botany and oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and wild spirits and about the oldest North American civilization, forever altered by “manifest destiny." I have been in touch with tea since I was 10 years of age and it has always been a part of my life. I am a landscape architect and an enthusiastic tea artist. After I moved to America, my partner and husband Joseph singlehandedly built the tea house for me, according to my design. Everything including the slab table was made by Joseph over a period of two years. Now I would like to share with others this tea house full of love energy and my love of Chinese tea, the etiquette of drinking tea and interesting stories of China.

Ever been interested in trying your hand at blowing glass? Join me in my flameworking studio and learn how to make your first piece of glass art at Chadly Glass Studio! I’m a professional borosilicate glass blower with over 10 years of experience and offer hands-on, beginner's classes in inner SE Portland. In this introductory group class, students will be taught basic glass blowing safety, skills, and will have the opportunity to create 2-3 pieces of glass art: a mushroom sculpture, wine bottle stopper or pendant, and a small blown ornament. This class may be shared with other individuals (up to 6 participants per class). Class duration is approximately 3 hours. Students get to keep any glass they create, and gain knowledge and hands-on experience in a very unique field. *Glass made during lesson will require kilning for durability, which takes a minimum of 4 hours. Most students choose to pick up the glass they made the next day (or at their earliest convenience).* ** Participants are required to sign a liability waiver prior to instruction. Minimum age requirement is 14 years old. Participants between ages 14-17 must have their parent/guardian present for the duration of the class. We will teach you how to milk a cow. *At the beginning we allow you time to spend with the animals. Petting, brushing, or just hanging out with them. *Next we take you through what we feed our animals and how we care for them. We can talk about what goes into the cleanliness of the process and getting everything ready. *We will then go through the experience of milking the cow (whether by hand or with the machine, you decide). Allowing you to do as much of the work as you feel comfortable with. *Afterwards we will strain the milk and get it cooled and clean up. *Before you leave we will give you the opportunity to taste any of the products from our farm with the option to purchase milk at a 50% discount. *Congrats! You will have milked a cow!

While visiting the artist's studio, you learn the process of blowing glass, and basic glassblowing techniques including taking a gather, marvering, blow'n-cap, and shaping glass. The workshop is very hands-on, focused on the process instead of the final product. With experienced glass artists, you make 2 to 3 small objects such as a paperweight, ornament/float, and/or drinking glass, to take home. Glassblowing is a team work. We strongly recommend to experience this with another person. If you are solo, you may still book a spot. However, the single booker should expect to finish earlier. Best to wear a cotton top and cotton pants. Open-toed shoes are not allowed. Please bring a pair of sunglasses with you. Be prepared to be hot and sweaty, and to have fun! BYOB if you like. We'll begin with an in-depth tour of our Past Worlds gallery and end with a behind-the-scenes visit inside our Paleo Lab. In the gallery, we will talk about dinosaurs found in Utah (some known exclusively from our own collections) and explore the ecosystems and adaptations that make these animals so fascinating. Inside the Paleo Lab, we will get a sneak peek at the projects that our paleontology volunteers are working on and learn about the techniques used to prepare our most recent discoveries. The tour is for adults and teens 13 years or older. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum number of participants is 10. Admission is complementary with purchase of the experience. Admission fees cannot be deducted from the package price. Tour length is approximately 2 hours or so, depending on group discussions. Face masks are optional and not required.

A fly rod is built in the same way that bamboo grows. From the bottom, or butt, to the tip. You will remove a node from a 12' culm of Tonkin bamboo, using a small hack saw, as the first step in seeing how a custom 8' node-less fly rod is made. Then you will split one of 72 splints needed to form the tip or butt of the rod with a hammer and knife. You will scarf one splint to shape it for gluing. Fancy planing, shaping the cork handle, and silk wrapping will be demonstrated along with the final varnish dip. At the end of the class you are invited to cast a variety of rods that I have made with a casting lesson on the "green river" of my lawn. In 2 hours you will see how the rod is made but you will not build a completed rod -- my first rod took me 100 hours. Other things to note Wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. If you have a favorite fly reel that you want to try on a finished rod bring it along.

We offer a concierge service where we’ll pick you up in our 12 passenger van, make seated tasting reservations at 3 of our favorite wineries, walk you in, introduce you to the tasting room staff, point out essential spots of the winery, organize, carry and store your wine purchases, take photos throughout and air drop them upon completion of the tour, provide a boxed lunch and water throughout. I will take you on a personally designed tour of some of San Francisco's most scenic "must experience" spots. We will begin in Union Square where you can purchase your choice of transportation vouchers, (I will guide you through every step) we will then hop a cable car and head to Lombard Street where we will walk down the crookedest street and observe some breath taking views. From Lombard we will walk about 15 minutes through a beautiful neighborhood to the Fisherman's Warf and spend about an hour at Pier 39 visiting the shops and maybe catch a little sweet treat. From the pier we will walk about two blocks and catch a quick 15 minute bus ride to the Golden Gate Bridge. The bus route offers great picturesque opportunities. At the Golden Gate Bridge we will walk the entire span of the amazing engineering structure (3 miles round trip). On the bridge we will take in the breath taking views of the skyline, bay, and natural geological formations that give San Francisco its vibe and amazing beauty. We will take a return bus ride to the Warf area where we will hop a cable car to finish the tour in China Town. Every step along the way I will provide you with historical interpretations, fun facts, and geographical insight, and not to mention a fun and exciting excursion. Hi! My name is Kim and I may be one of the only, if not the only Zion guide in the Airbnb Experiences with a Permit for guiding inside of Zion (and Bryce National Park as well if you are interested). This will be a tour of the most amazing area of Zion National Park - The Narrows! This is a river trail that covers up to 6 miles: The first mile is an incredibly beautiful trail, The Riverside Trail. This is a fairly flat, very groomed path. Then, after that mile, we will enter the water and walk up as much as two miles, going into one of the deepest and narrowest slot canyons in the US! I've been hiking in this area for over 30 years so I know a thing or three about the local geology, the flora, fauna, history, logistics, and especially this trail! We will meet at the Visitors' Center in Zion National Park at 7:00 a.m. Yes, 7:00 a.m. This is to avoid the huge crowds that will be wandering aimlessly about the park. Also, the summer in Zion can be quite hot and we can avoid that by entering early. In addition, the lighting is softer in the morning which makes for great pictures! Then we will take the park shuttle (this is mandatory) to the Riverside Trailhead where this fabulous hike begins. This and The Narrows lend an almost other worldly feel! Bring an extra pair of running shoes with you - you don't want to walk around in wet shoes afterward.

We will meet up in the old City Cemetery and I’ll fill you in on some of the well known writers who have wandered through Sacramento literary history. We can either sit in the shade of the trees and I will regale you with stories, or we can tour in my car the various landmarks related to Raymond Carver, Ernest Hemingway, Joan Didion, and more. Whichever one is more comfortable for you is fine. You’ll see where Maya Angelou liked to relax with a glass of wine, where a 50s suburban housewife churned out lesbian romance novels (which now have a huge cult following)and where the love letters of JD Salinger were plagiarized. Sacramento has been the host of many a surprising literary occurrence...

Enjoy the peace and beauty of Lake Tahoe from the beach. Our practice takes place on Nevada Beach (a state park) before the bustle of the day begins. You'll be guided through an all level asana practice while gazing upon the lake and mountains. Other things to note Bring a beach towel or blanket instead of a mat. Beach Yoga is a wonderful experience for everyone. Include it as part of your wedding day, bachelor or bachelorette party, family gathering, or corporate retreat. Check the weather before booking. In the case of high winds, cold temperatures, rain or snow we will move the practice indoors to Lake Tahoe Yoga.

This tour combines two of Southern Utah's most popular activities: exploring scenic slot canyons and horseback riding. First we will climb into the saddle at the stables and conduct a brief riding lesson for the inexperienced riders. No need to worry if you are a beginner, we have years of experience and reserve the best trained horses for our guests. Our ride will take us to the mouth of a beautiful slot canyon where we will dismount and walk a short distance into the canyon. This incredible sandstone formation is very narrow with walls towering several hundred feet high on either side. East Zion is the home to world class slot canyons that can be found nowhere else! Following this stop, riders will again get in the saddle and ride back to the starting point. You will be led by a local guide with years of horse riding experience that will also share the rich cowboy history of small town Orderville that continues to live on today. Join us at a beautiful trail nestled in the foothills of Denver! This is a great opportunity to experience the beauty of the Rockies without a long drive. This trail is located 30 minutes from Denver and it's easily accessible year-round. We will go on a leisurely walk to explore the scenic views while photographically documenting the experience. We are seasoned photographers with over 500 5-star reviews across all platforms! Details: * Consider choosing a weekday to avoid crowds. * This is a private experience. You will not be booked with strangers. * The trail is easy to navigate for beginners and children. We can also accommodate guests with limited mobility. * You may take an Uber to this location or we will give you detailed driving directions. *Groups such as families, friends and couples are welcome. We also love photographing solo travelers. (Since the photoshoots are private, a solo session is still considered a group when booking) * We would love to help you plan your surprise proposal! *Photos are provided in an online gallery within three weeks of your experience date. You are able to select your favorite images to purchase from the gallery. *Each group receives a $50 credit that is applied towards the purchase of a digital collection.
