The views are stunning with panoramic views of lakeland fells and over Brotherswater. The place is pet friendly and perfect for guests who love the outdoors. After a day in the fells, toast your toes by the wood burning stove or enjoy the sunshine in the private south facing garden.

Beautifully renovated cottage in the heart of a thriving yet peaceful village on the edge of the Lake District, close to the northern fells. Within walking distance of a village pub, shop, cafes and gift shop. Caldbeck is situated on the fifth and final section of the Cumbria Way. The cottage is perfect for walkers and non-walkers as there is plenty to do around the area. If you are bringing your dog, please make sure you include them in your booking as there is a charge to bring a pet.

Our cottage is nestled in the picturesque village of Portinscale and is a short 5 minute walk into Keswick. Portinscale is perfectly situated for any outdoor activity. Derwentwater Marina is a short 2 minute walk away, the local fells are easily accessible from the front door and the cycling (both trail and road) are world class. There is a superb cafe situated 100 yards from the cottage and a local village pub. The cosy cottage is the perfect base for a fantastic holiday.

3 Bedroom cottage. Hot tub with robes provided. Log Burner, carpets in bedrooms and living room. 1 King bedroom, 2 Twin Bedrooms and a large sofa bed sleeps 8 in total. All of the bedding is Egyptian Cotton. Front garden and back enclosed garden. 15 minutes slow walk into town. Pub over the road serving excellent food. Excellent base to explore the Lakes, do activities or simply relax. Pets are welcome max. 2 There is also a Travel Cot and High Chair available.

The Old Map Shop

The Old Map Shop was originally part of the village school. In more recent times it was a map shop, but then lay empty for a number of years before it was sensitively converted into a holiday property in 2020 - 2021. Caldbeck has a pub, cafes and a few shops. It is a great base for exploring the northern fells or for a stop on the Cumbria Way.

The Hayloft - a cottage on our Lake District farm

Completed in July 2020, The Hayloft is one of 3 cottages in our old stone barn near Ullswater lake in the Lake District. Bedroom one has a double bed and en suite shower, toilet and basin. Bedroom 2 can be made up as a double bed or two single beds. We can provide an extra small bed in here for a young child up to about age 7.
