The Highland Haven, converted barn, John O'Groats

The Highland Haven is perfect for those travelling the NC500 or visiting Orkney in a group. Our two rooms have traditional box beds and can sleep up to 10 (4 in one room, 6 in the other), each with Ensuite and an extra wet room. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway which is nestled above the historic Staxigoe Harbour. The cottage would suit a family or group of like minded people looking for amazing sea views and nature on their doorstep. Staxigoe is the ideal place for cold water swimming, paddle boarding or kayaking. The beach behind the stack is the perfect place to look for shells or find hidden sea glass. The Old Smiddy, Huna, John O'Groats

Close to the village of John O' Groats and on the North Coast 500, the Old Smiddy (an old blacksmith's cottage) has been beautifully restored into a modern home, while keeping many of its original features. The cottage sleeps 4 people in 2 double bedrooms (both en-suite) and has a fold-away camp bed for use by a small child. The cottage offers beautiful sea views across the Pentland Firth to the Orkney Islands and is the perfect base for exploring Caithness, Sutherland and Orkney.

Firthview is located in a peaceful area from which to base yourself for an active holiday or relaxing retreat. Located just off the NC500 route in was completely refurbished in 2021. It sleeps 4 people and is available to rent all year round. This coastal cottage is part of a traditional croft-based smallholding in Caithness with views of the Pentland Firth, Orkney Islands and surrounding countryside.

Our self catering lodges have 2 bedrooms sleeping a maximum of 3 people in each. Bathroom with shower. Celtic Lodges are perfectly located in the north of Scotland, right on the famous NC500 route between Thurso (11.5 miles) and John O’Groats (7.5 miles). Caithness remains a largely unspoiled and undeveloped county ringed, to the north and east by dramatic coastal scenery.
