Il casolare dove viviamo e dove vi invitiamo è sotto il borgo di Mondaino, costruito a meta' 1800 e ristrutturato negli anni 80 da una coppia di artisti londinesi, che lo ha abitato fino a poco fa, donandogli uno stile semplice ma creativo. Sulla ciclabile che da Rimini porta in Valmarecchia si staglia una torre medioevale risalente al XIV secolo. Fatta erigere da un facoltoso riminese Fusso de’ Battagli. Un tempo torre di guardia di una estesa fattoria fortificata, custodiva grano e prodotti della terra. La gente veniva qui nel ricetto per cuocere il pane.
