We're only 30 minutes from the centre of Christchurch, about 1 hour to Porters Ski Area or Mount Hutt or 15 minutes from The National Equestrian Centre at McLeans Island. This is a family lifestyle property. We have horses, alpacas, kunekune pigs, chickens and dogs. Bring your horse. There is grazing with easy access and parking for trucks and floats. Country Escape

My place is close to great views of the Southern Alps and away from the hustle and bustle of city living. It is a peaceful country escape. 10 mins to Darfield & 20 mins to Rolleston, and 30 mins to Christchurch or Christchurch airport. My place is good for couples and families (with kids). We are only a few minutes away from the hot air ballooning and an hour from the ski fields. The nearest golf course is only 5 mins down the road with several others available in the Selwyn district.

Darfield: Homebush School Cottage

Homebush Cottage is part of the 130 year old former Homebush School, located on the Southern Scenic Route, 8kms from Darfield township and close to popular Skifields, Lakes and amazing tourist destinations, thus making us the perfect stopover. The cottage is set on 3 acres including beautiful rambling gardens and tennis court. The Cottage is super comfy and suitable for a couple. We provide a self catering continental breakfast including free range eggs from Brown Shavers !!!

Rose Cottage Pretty Countryside Retreat

This stand-alone cottage sits on our peaceful rural property, giving you privacy, space, and a true country escape. Your own private garden looks out over our paddock, home to Roxie and Sidney, our friendly pet sheep, along with Gem and Wednesday, our adorable miniature horses — a favourite with guests of all ages. Just 25 minutes from the airport and 40 minutes from Christchurch CBD, our cottage is perfectly positioned for both convenience and relaxation.

Self contained (en suite) accomodation which is part of a professional equestrian facility (sadly there are no horses to ride; but you can bring your own). As this is a working equestrian facility you may hear life starting around 7:30am.
