With kitchen living downstairs and the upstairs having more of a hotel set up with 2 double beds a pull out bed settee and a single bed with shower suite. It’s possible to sleep 3 couples and another. Ideally better to leave the settee as a settee for comfortable living and relaxing both upstairs and down.

Our cosy cottage on the edge of Blaengarw village, in a valley surrounded by mountains, and small lakes. Amazing walking country on the doorstep with dramatic views, and we are dog-friendly (but sorry, no cats). Real fire, Netflix, DVDs & books for huddled nights in. Great cycling with riverside rides and mountain trails. Shop, pub & takeaway in the village. Designer outlet, Odeon cinema, nature reserves and castles all a short drive. And we live round the corner for any advice or help!

James' Place @ Brynawel - The Rafters

Flexible accommodation to suit your needs. At James' Place we can offer you either a double room or 2 fully equipped studios with the added benefit of your own kitchen. Brynawel is a beautiful Victorian house next to Thomastown Park and has stunning views over the Merthyr valley. Brynawel is a very short walk to Merthyr Tydfil town centre, the train and bus station, but far enough away for you to have a peaceful retreat.
