A gateway to traveling differently

Airbnb is committed to responsible travel around UNESCO's World Heritage Sites

Telling the Stories of a Region
Through local voices and experiences, Airbnb is shining a light on the widespread cultural and natural beauty of the Veneto region, beyond its renowned cities such as Venice, Verona, and Padua. To support this effort, we have funded the local branch of the UNESCO World Heritage Volunteers (WHV) Initiative, a program run by Better World which aims to engage young people, both at global and local level, in heritage conservation. The 'Narratori della Bellezza' program trains young members of the local communities in thoughtful hospitality, in order to promote responsible travel in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of their region.

Empower Local Communities
With tens of thousands of visitors expected in the Veneto region during the 2026 Games, there’s never been a better time to start sharing your space.Through Airbnb's Host Academy program and support from our Superhosts, we offer individuals the opportunity to make the most out of our platform and boost tourism-driven economy in their local communities, even in areas where traditional hospitality options are limited.According to Deloitte, hosts during the Games could earn an average of €2,400. With events happening across lesser-known towns and rural areas, Airbnb helps more people benefit from this moment, while giving guests authentic local stays.
Educate Guests to Responsible Tourism
Airbnb supports responsible tourism in every destination where it operates. When it comes to UNESCO World Heritage Sites, traveling thoughtfully is a duty, not only out of respect for the local communities that protect them, but also for the world as a whole.Through our Good Guest Guides and educational outreach campaigns, we support our host community’s efforts to encourage responsible traveler behavior by providing guests with the information they need: from waste management to heritage protection, from avoiding nuisances to promoting sustainable mobility.
