Amazing mountain views above Gibbston' s famous winery area. High up away from the noisy road we have 5 acres of garden. Your apartment, with its own front door is attached to our home but feels very private. It is newly redecorated with an open plan kitchen, lounge, dining room. Two bedrooms both with shower ensuites , one a king bed and the other a king or 2 single beds. Enjoy our log burning fire or go outside and enjoy the outdoor brazier while sipping a local wine and stargazing.

The Apartment

Our renovated room is located at the back of our section over the garage, with separate external access via staircase. We are perfectly located for you to enjoy all Cromwell has to offer. Only a 10 min walk to the town centre and lake, even closer to the golf course and of course a great spot for you to stay if you are heading off on the central otago bike trail. The room has a kitchenette with complimentary tea and coffee and everything you need for a relaxing few nights away from home.

Stargazer Cottage is located on the grounds of the iconic 1888 residence (featured on Grand Designs and Under the Vines TV series) in the heart of the Gibbston Kawarau Dark Sky Reserve. Stargazer Cottage is the ideal base to explore the Queenstown area being only 15 minutes from New Zealand’s most scenic small town, Arrowtown and just 20 minutes from Queenstown airport. The best wineries are within walking distance or take the Queenstown/Arrowtown bike trail from the end of the lane.

Guests can discover the joys of our urban farm and say hello to the chickens. Cherry Tree Farm is a five minute drive from Cromwell township and just 40 minutes to Queenstown or Wanaka.
