Magpie Lane Cottage is situated only metres from the Riesling Trail. Drive, cycle, or walk (if you’re keen) to some of the best winery cellar doors and restaurants the beautiful Clare Valley has to offer. Enjoy the abundant birdlife (including Bob, our resident magpie) and watching sunsets from the deck in this peaceful and tranquil setting.

Stables by the Vines

In 1856, an English stonemason, Thompson Priest, began mining slate in Mintaro. At the same time, he built a home with stables at the rear of his property. Over the intervening years, the stables fell into a desperate state, however, recently, the Stable has returned to life through a sensitive restoration and refurbishment. Set on the edge of Reillys Winery, the Stable is a 100m walk through the vines to the cellar door and further 20 metres to the renowned Magpie Stump Hotel.
