Everything brand newly done and just finished, there are oak floors, lovely high ceilings and windows all around, meaning the apartment is lovely and light. Being on the corner it is dual aspect. There's a little balcony where you can have your morning coffee looking out over a roof garden opposite. There is a smart TV and free Wifi. In the generous sized bathroom there is both a beautiful stone clad shower & a claw footed bath for luxurious soaking as well as lots of cupboard space and a dressing table. The 53m2 loft is ideal for either one person travelling alone, a couple or two friends. There is a king sized bed up in the bedroom on the mezzanine level. There is also a brand new good sized sofa bed in the living room, although be aware that if you have guests sleeping on it they will have to cross the corner of the bedroom upstairs to use the bathroom - so really only recommended if you are good friends or family. Smart TV, Apple TV, Wifi, hairdryer, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, cooker + induction hob, washer/dryer, dishwasher, kettle, Mitsubishi air conditioning and heating, fridge/freezer, iron & ironing board, umbrella ( it usually rains during the film festival at some point!). There is the exit to a public car park ( Parking Ferrage) literally opposite the front door of the building - 1st hour of parking free and better parking rates if staying for several days or weeks. ( for example: €54.50 for 4 days or €84.80 for 10 days ). There is a little beauty salon just further down the alley from the apartment, for massages, facials, manicures and treatments. We live only half an hour away so are always on hand to help or advise. We can meet you at the bus stop or the station if you need us to take you to the apartment and can recommend all sorts of things to see and do. The apartment is located near the port off Rue Meynardier, a cobbled street lined with charming shops, cafes, and restaurants. Walk to Marche Forville for an array of grocery options. Walk to Palais des Festivals in 2 minutes, or to the beach in 8. The apartment is superbly located for congress and festivals being within about two minutes walk from the Palais des festivals and is also brilliantly located for transport. A couple of hundred yards from both the train station, the bus depot, a taxi rank and also from the express bus to Nice Airport. You can easily walk to the beaches, the Croisette, the Palais, the Suquet and the Port in just a minute or two. There is the exit to a public car park ( Parking Ferrage) literally opposite the front door of the building - 1st hour of parking free and better parking rates if staying for several days or weeks. ( for example: €54.50 for 4 days or €84.80 for 10 days ) The apartment is on the 3rd ( top ) floor of a small building ( Three flats including ours ). There is no lift - although the stair flights are wide and short so it doesn't feel too bad at all. Unfortunately therefore not suitable for wheelchairs. Right in the heart of historical Arles "La Roquette" which used to be the fisher's district. Charming "Arlésienne" house with modern-typed furnishing. It will charm any art and design enthusiast with her elegant decoration, XX's century design "pieces" chosen. On the walls are several contemporary paintings and photographs. The house is 150 sqmeters + green garden, well exposed to sunlight (south-east), & was totaly renovated therefore is in good condition, all the architecturals details that made provencals houses typical & beautiful have been retained. We choose to keep the original floors (tiled cement ) in original condition , Situated in proximity of all kinds of shops (food, clothing...), restaurants and touristic destinations (museums, art galleries, ruins...). La Roquette is a safe & very lovely district, you will be at walking distance (less than 3minutes walk garantied) of several bars, restaurants & any attractions... And good ones, we'll provide you our best choice, the best addresses! Where to be! Every saturday, is organised one of the biggest and most beautiful open-sky market of Provence, one end of which is 100 meters away from the house. You can actually go everywhere by foot from the house, no need to use your car once you are there. La Roquette is The place to be in Arles!!! On the ground floor : entrance, living-room with view on the garden, and a spacious kitchen fully equipped (dish-washer, huge fridge and freezer, wine fridge, large working plane); A wood stove is there for the relatively cold days of winter. First floor : small library and a desk with internet connection, 1 bathroom with "italian" shower, 2 double bedrooms, one of which has a balcony over the garden. Second floor : one tv room, 2 double bedrooms and a bathroom with a big bath. Vast & safe parkings (it's now 10€per day or 1€/h) can be found 100 meters away from the house. As we are strongly involved in sustainable development, this house has been renovated using as much as possible the original materials and techniques. Insulation has been made with hemp, woodwork were custom built by a local craftman, and painting are water based. Rooms are equipped with slatted beds, mattresses, pillows made from natural and renewable components in bamboo, soya, wool, linen and natural latex (rubber tree resin) certified Max Havelaar. Sheets and towels are made of organic cotton. At least, all cleaning and washing products are as muvh as possible organic. Rooms are cleaned only with steam, soap from Marseille (very famous natural and traditional french cleaning product), black soap, vinegar and sodium bicarbonate. Gardens are conceived and maintained without any chemical products, only organic treatments are provided.
