Tasman West - on the beach!

Our home is 'on the beach' and is situated midway between Greymouth and Punakaiki. We offer a self contained unit on the ground floor of our home. The beach is just a few steps away and is great for walking. Punakaiki is 20 minutes from the house, Greymouth is also 20 minutes and Hokitika airport is a 50 minute drive to the south. Greymouth offers a range of eateries and there is a pub and hotel in Punakaiki. We are situated on state high way 6, which is well known for its spectacular scenery.

Situated on the Inland scenic route [High way 72] and only a short drive to Mount Hutt ski field and the Ashburton Lakes /Lord of the Rings country.For a longer drive Geraldine is only 30 minutes away and the Gateway to the beautiful Southern Lakes . The cottage accomodation is totally private set in a beautiful garden setting in the grounds of the historic school house built in 1876. 20 minutes to Methven and 1 hour to Christchurch international Airport. Our modern 3 bed house is newly renovated, and a 5 minute walk to the centre of Hokitika where you can find all sorts of treasures, from a range of great cafes and Restaurants, to Pounamu (Greenstone or Jade), a movie theatre, and a range of very stylish shops, with everything from clothes, jewellery, souvenirs, flowers, and hardware. If you walk through town you can stroll right onto the beach, where you can sometimes spot seals, little blue penguins and other wildlife.
