Ideal for walkers, we are less than a mile from the South West Coast Path. Although very rural, we are within walking distance of two pubs, the New Inn at Veryan and The Ship at Portloe. The village shop & post office are at Veryan for your added convenience.

The Applehay

Set within an apple orchard on the grounds of Eathorne Manor, the Applehay is the ideal spot for a getaway. Whether a romantic escape, or a writing retreat, the shepherd's hut offers a back to nature experience, with splash of luxury. Surrounded by rose strewn apple trees and wild grasses and the shepherd's hut has all you need to escape from the humdrum. A short drive from the buzz of Falmouth, or the tranquil beaches of the Helford river, the Applehay is the ideal base for exploration.

Four Lanes is the highest village in this part of Cornwall so has stunning views towards the Atlantic Ocean ,St Ives and Carbis Bay. Surrounded by Tin mining heritage to explore on an array of routes, such as ‘The Great Flat Lode’, which we are situated near. The other wonderful thing about it is the stunning sun rises and sun sets. Due to very little light pollution in this area on a clear night it is like sitting in a Planetarium, so the hut has a skylight to allow you to witness this.

Noah’s Ark is our Shepherd’s Hut situated in a rural conservation area just inside Cornwall and nestles between our goat’s & ponies’ paddock and overlooks our bordering river. The surrounding area is perfect for cycling & walks on Bodmin & Dartmoor & equidistant from the north & south coasts. Both coasts are a short drive away, the parish of Wendron where Porkellis is situated is steeped in a rich mining heritage and there is a 7 mile circular walk on our doorstep.
